CLAIR OBSCUR: EXPEDITION 33

Bahamut, King of... Dragoons.
( This drawing made me buy a new wrist brace and now I see shading lines if I close my eyes.)
I want to compliment Joshua Rosfield on his faith in Dion Lesage.
They haven't met since they were 9 years old. But this man is 100% sure that, not only will he not kill him or Jote, but he'll listen to his story and help him.
House Lesage is responsible not only for the fall of Joshua's house (triggered by Phoenix Gate), but also his father's death, Clive's enslavement, and the continued mistreatment of Rosaria.
But still, this man walks into a camp full of soldiers, makes his way quietly into Dion's tent, uninvited, and stands prim and proper with his hands behind his back even when Sir Terrance draws his weapon, he does not budge.
And his faith is absolutely spot on. Dion, though weary and hostile at first, did not allow Terrance to harm them, and listened to his tale.
All the while, Joshua refers to him as "your highness" and bows to him because Joshua has no kingdom left and has lost his rank (assuming they were equal 20 years ago). But at this point, Joshua is content to be viewed as a "commoner", or even one of his subjects. But Dion doesn't accept that either, he immediately knows that he is a dominant of noble blood and treats him as an equal.
And last, but not least, Joshua has kept his existence a secret from everyone. And the only person that he reveals himself to, besides Clive and Jill, is the son of the man who would be most interested in killing him, if not trying to enslave him for Sanbreque's cause. And instead, Dion joins him.
Like, damn, Joshua. I do not know what happened at that Rememberance Ceremony, but you were right on the money with that leap of faith.
Jote: My lord, can we talk about your plan?
Joshua: My plan to speak with Dion?
Jote: Yes, that plan.
Joshua: Jote, I don't know what more there is to talk about. We are just going to walk into his tent unseen, and then I'll speak with him about Ultima and ask him for his help.
Jote: And you don't think he'll kill us both?
Joshua: No.
Jote: [screaming inwardly] And please remind me, your grace, why do you expect that he won't kill the heir of a rival kingdom, come back from the grave?
Joshua: Jote, I've met him before, he knows me and he is honorable and sensible. We really hit it off last time, too.
Jote: Remind me when you met him?
Joshua: The Remembrance Ceremony.
Jote: in 859? When you were 8?
Joshua: 9.
Jote: My lord, don't you think he may have changed since then?
Joshua: Of course he's changed, Jote! He'll be much taller! Now, come on! I have a prince to charm!
Jote: [dies inside]

Teredio Comic is completed!
Featuring an interpretation of the aftermath of their confession and start of their relationship at 18 years old.( from the FFXVI Ultimania informations), take place 3 weeks following Dion's very severe injury.
Terence is unsure how to navigate this new relationship he never expected returned, while Dion is a bit giddy with how he definitely -notice- things, now.
Dion the Bold, as we saaayyy, also it was about time I flexed my French muscle.
Hope you guys liked it, and I would be curious to know which page was your personal fav! a big thank you to @Lysiae_Sun ( on Twitter) for the help beta-reading as always!
(Dunno if this will pass the censor but always worth a try.)
Finally here it is!
Yes I "Lionkinged" Dion and Terence.
Just imagine a moment in their later teen years on an excursion in the Greatwoods.
It's corny, yes, but seriously after everything they went through in the game? They -deserve to be silly normal dudes in love.
Dion's voice actor Stewart Clarke discussing Dion's motivations and relationships with his father and Terence (contains spoilers for the whole game).
Final Fantasy 16 actor Stewart Clarke explores Dion's most meaningful relationships and what they mean to Bahamut's Dominant.
OH GOD
OH GOD OH GOD
OH MY FUCKING GOD
Do you think how Dion attempting to just end the whole world might have made Ultima panic for a sec?

Thinking about the curse……….part 2
Anyone else uhhhh thinking about the curse
To what do we owe this honor? A debt I would see repaid. [...] Thank you. For everything, Your Highness. Dion, please.
I doubt I’m the only person to notice this but… what is going on with those turquoise beads Joshua wears around his waist?
His outfit is otherwise predominantly the red and black of House Rosfield. You never see Clive, Elwin, Annabella, or even Jill wearing beads like that - nothing to suggest they’re part of Rosarian culture or his family livery.
There is only one other person I’m aware of wearing anything similar. And they’re practically an exact match:
… that’s the Emperor Sylvestre Lesage. Dion’s father. And those colours are very much part of the Sanbreque/Lesage livery.
I am dying to know if there’s any character design commentary out there from the developers about the decision to give Joshua those beads. It seems like a very deliberate choice. It makes me genuinely wonder if they’re supposed to have been a gift from Dion, when they were children - given the strength of Dion’s reaction to Joshua turning up alive, and Joshua’s certainty that Dion would join him, it feels like that “I met him once” must have been more significant to both of them than it sounds.
