Found someone who was doing conversions of clothes from Kingdom Hearts and, as I tend to do, I put Cyl and Emira in ‘em for a KH-inspired AU.

1)  "Careful now,” says Raximé as she catches the near-to-fainting memory-witch Cyl, “Can’t have you betting busted, now can we, puppet?”

2) “You’re a heck of a fighter, Emi,” scoffs Lycx (lie-ksh) to the Keyblade Master glaring up at her, “But can you dodge my dazzling drones?” “I don’t have time for this,” spits Emira, “Do what you’re gonna do or get out of my way.”

3) The presence of Cyl and Emira’s Nobodies implies the presence of them having powerful Heartless.  So I tried to make them.  They were a bit more TRON than necessary, but at the same time?  Why not?

A while back, I did a few AU versions of Them Goils.

And, well, combine that with some Star Trek: tNG rewatches to coincide with Picard and we get Federation Synthetic Science Officer Cyl and Space Pirate Emira, about to have an intense relationship for an episode which’ll lead to Emira becoming a series regular next season.

Some stuff with the novel people while I rework it to be more... I dunno.  Cohesive with some evolving visions of it?  I dunno.

Anyway, up top are our protagonists with some significant others of different kinds--romantic for Emira, close in ways that are hard to put a name to for Cyl.

Then it’s just wanting to do a glamor shot for Emira while I muss about with a model for her robot arm.

And after that, just Them Goils hanging out.

March of the Robots, finale!

27) DJ Barbidol.  Another from the Techno Music series, but I just like her, dangit.  Decided she’s an AI put into someone’s modern art project.  That someone, strangely, was never seen again.

Nobody’s really asked questions about it because putting AI into bodies of certain levels of fragility is a crime and when the people who do it tend to run away to avoid prosecution.

Yeah.  Totally just run away.  That’s the ticket.

28) I just thought Zent was kinda hot, so... More Zent.

29) During this whole nightmare, I’ve been calling going to the grocery store “venturing out into the Cursed Earth”.  As such, I thought I’d make a piece I could entitle “going to the grocery store”.

30) Inzo again!  Put him in that scrappy skin and sent him out to do some dancing.  Why not, right?

31) Another picture of a WiP story.  Teeg and Nen, seeking an escape from humanity, stumble upon an abandoned company town that’s gone quite mad in its isolation from the meatsacks which made it.  Nen gets a little too comfortable with the city and has coupled himself to it by a cable of reconstituted meat in exchange for some future service to the city.

March of the Robots, Part 4!

22) Zent and Jesse were going to be part of a story about discomfort in one’s own skin and the impossibility of total connection between people.  it was gonna get all weird and body horror as they tried to exchange skin.  But then I wanted to make a picture of them and they were too cute so now they’re just boyfriends.  I just needed to watch Tetsuo: The Iron Man again, I think.

23) “Hey, 2B!  Who made those adorable robots you keep tearing up?”

24) A Daft-Punk-inspired robot on his way to a hot date.

25) A couple exploration droids share a moment around a fire.  B117 is bemused by A291 picking up a smoking habit when neither of them have lungs.

26) Téa watches her partner, Ral, fly off as they both head to work.  Ral has recently become a sapient nanoswarm; Téa is a little jealous and looking forward to doing the same one day soon.

March of the Robots, Part 3!

Some installments justified the use of previously-made images because some days I did as many as 3 images for each day.  So, y’know.  I feel less lazy about things.

17) "Hey," you might well say, "The Major from Ghost in the Shell isn't a robot; she's a cyborg! A pedant like you should know better!" "That's true," I would reply, "But have you considered that she rules?"

18) Two robot bassists.  Because they look cool and I really enjoy making stringed instruments look future-y by making the strings glow.

19) Iszh.  Iszh is one of Cyl’s friends on the Transfer Station.  He runs a courier service between Sublevel 05 and Level 02.  He claims to have a collection of human spines which he has personally extracted from humans who had it coming.  He is not to be fucked with.

20) Around the time this all went out, anderjak-creations put out some designs for Prurience, a character from her Slipshine comic.  I’m too shy to make things super-hornt but I liked the challenge of trying to adapt her design into 3D.  I know precious little about her except that she has terrible sartorial taste and has a holoprojected human look.

21) I like Robot Unicorn Attack.

March of the Robots, part 2!

10) Tee OhFour, recently acting as a sports star, takes up arms when Terran forces arrive to enforce the edicts of the Intellectual Property Alliance who say that further manufacture of certain robot parts is now illegal.

11) Inzo!  Sometimes Inzo has to make due with whatever metals he can attach to his face.  But not quite looking how he wants won’t prevent him from getting hounds (of various sorts) released on his petty-criminal ass.

12) Inzo Again!  A little more comfortably-skinned, everyone’s favorite magically-animated automaton gives a traditional salute to his pursuers before ducking into the Paths Between.

13) A Sorayama-inspired muse who’s discovered a love for Celtic folk music.

14) I used this one because I was starting to burn out and I liked her mellow energy.

15) I tried to make a robosona!  It’s not quite perfect and I have the tools to make a more accurate face but... well, whatever.  Still looks pretty close.

16) I just like this steampunk-y violinist.

As a personal thing over on my less-defunct-nowadays twitter (which I just realized I don’t think I’ve linked here and is needsmorealeph), I decided to try doing March of the Robots, doing a picture of at least one robot character every day in March.

A chunk of them were from my Techno Music collection but look:  these things can be fiddly and take a while to do.

So, here’s part 1:

1) Intrepid and Sedulous, some of anderjak-creations‘ characters from a comic she did for the SEX MACHINE anthology.  The story made me feel feelings, which is the ultimate crime.

2) A former death machine robot turned karaoke host.  He’s chill.

3) It’s Cyl!  You know Cyl.  She’s great!

4) Orange is one of podcast friend Sono’s characters.  She’s a flying android who likes looking at cool bugs and is related to some cool monster-folks.

5) An infiltrator-turned flautist who rolls with the Io Philharmonic.

6) Old Patchwork Terz makes a friend.  She’s meant to be sort of the main character for an RPG I want to make one day.  But distractions and bad brains are STRONG.

7) Anarchy for Io!

8) Cool robot ballerina!

9) Melesse, a character I’ve been trying to figure out how to build a story around.  All I know is that she’s the only survivor of an experimental FTL ship who’s trying to planethop her way home or to find a new home.
