Recently I made a post about Everybody Hates Chris and media preservation and I talked about how they ripped the og songs and replaced them with boring background music on the streaming, and someone reblogged saying that the same happened with supernatural. And here I ask you guys, would you please tell me what other shows the same thing happened?

There are innumerous reasons why piracy is necessary and the people love it, but today I want to talk specifically about a show that shows why piracy is important for media preservation.

Everybody hates Chris is a beloved show here in Brazil, every sunday it's broadcast in an open tv channel and everyone knows a phrase, a scene and the dub definitely helped to spread it's popularity.

But also the soundtrack, the songs make the scenes even more remarkable.

But in every single streaming that the series is available, the songs are substituted with generic soundtracks (probably because of copyright) and that sucks and takes away part of the impact of the scenes. Also some scenes are completely cut out

The only ways to watch with the original songs are:

Open channel (only on Sundays, can't choose what episodes to watch and sometimes the scenes might get cut)

DVDs (love physical media but not everyone has a dvd reader, and the complete collection cost R$100 or more )

Digital piracy (free, you can watch anytime, anywhere, whatever you want whenever you want)

It's clear that piracy is the best option that keeps the show the way it was intended to be watched.
