Ocean Eyes

Summary: Bellamy has fallen a lot, but he’s never fallen farther than he did for her ocean eyes. (A03) (FFNET) thank you @gryffindormischief for beta-ing! 

The day they crash landed on the beaches, surrounded by green trees shutting out the sky, should’ve been the first clue that the new world was going to be shaded in colors that Bellamy had never seen in space. He was awestruck by soil colored like blood and he would’ve never guessed fish came in so many different colors. Still, nothing could ever prepare him for a special pair of ocean eyes.

“It’s too dangerous,” he presses again, but able to keep his cool this time, not letting his tone falter. Instead he keeps it steady, calm, leaving no room for doubt. He doesn’t want to make these kind of decisions, but someone has to. And they’re wasting time.

“Look,” Clarke announces, taking a tentative step towards him before she pushes her shoulders back and tilts her chin up. “You might be the sergeant but I’m in charge of medical decisions.” No one ever really challenges him, not like this. A beat passes in which he just stares at her, and then she adds, just a hint of smugness, “Respectfully, sir .”

And Harper had to quit the swim-team, because every time she dove into the pool, she risked betraying their secret to the world, or at least her swim-coach.
