Fucking hell. I could only get through about half of that, and normally I wouldn't want to cast judgment without fully reading something but frankly the halfway mark hit so horrendously I'm hesitant to even reblog with my thoughts because that would share the damn thing. Won't be a long critique, because the point of disgust that made me close the thing doesn't take much to articulate.

At first I was just thinking "well this is a deeply mean-spirited creative writing exercise on how deeply mentally ill NEET trans girls are a burden", which is bad enough, but then I got to the bit explicitly saying "she puts on a costume of feminisation while avoiding the material experience of womanhood, an experience of domestic labour and sexual availability, which her Feminised Costume allows her to force on others" and then going on to describe her as sexually demanding verging on predatory.

This is sickening, repulsive, this isn't just mean-spirited it is the most blatant, most clichéd of transmisogyny. This is a Guardian thinkpiece for a Tumblr audience, this is what you'd get if JK Rowling could write effective prose.

The aesthetic of being a feminized figure has been mobilized to dodge the labor of being a feminized figure, which is to say, to dodge being a woman, which is to say, to install someone else in the place of the woman so that the woman’s labor can be extracted from her while the puppygirl wears the woman’s clothes.

This ^ is the full quote being referenced. I am copy-pasting the whole thing, because not only does it display transmisogynistic degendering - accusing a hypothetical trans woman of putting on a costume of femininity while using misogyny against others - it displays ableist degendering. By equating "performing feminized labor" to "being a woman" in this way, this passage argues "if you're too disabled to work, you're too disabled to be a woman."

I've avoided posting these here because of extremely negative messages i got about it when I first made this new blog but this is kind of an emergency. i wont be able to make rent or bills next month and I was hit with other payments that I cant pay myself, please anything helps.
