spacesoldierssaga:
“Lavana, you got it all wrong!” Zadam was so ready to tell her the truth. Who he really was and what he had become. He didn’t think twice of the other Zadam before them both. There was just this pulse, the voice that couldn’t quit telling him that he shouldn’t let his own self get in the way. But as he’d know his own self, the fourteen year-old kid wouldn’t stand back.
“Lavana, there’s nowhere else to go. I have to defeat him. I have to. It’s the only way I can save you.” The younger Zadam replied to her pleading. “Don’t worry, you never truly lost me. You never will.”
Zadam’s heart skipped a beat at his kid self’s words. Somehow, he felt that was a lie if it was coming from his own mouth. He wasn’t the same kid who spoke those words so sure. He was a soldier with a mission, hands sullied with the blood of those he had to kill for freedom. And that kid…that kid was long gone.
And he was. In a blink of an eye, there was only Lavana standing there. And then, he turned to the chaos that happened simultaneously as his thoughts, finding one of his feisty comrades aiming at the Lozian girl.
“RIONA, NO!”
He immediately jumped at her arm, with all intentions of lowering the firearm to the ground before that finger pulls the trigger. But time had slowed. He was getting farther and farther from the gun as if a blackhole was sucking him away, Lavana’s salvation sinking in the distance.
“DONT SHOOT!”
But did she fire?
The shot roar like thunder. As Zadam shouts at her, she pulls the trigger aiming the fairy girl. The gun shot didn't cover Lavana's scream. It pierces the air like a sharp knife in the guts, tearing your soul appart. She tried to grabs his arm, like Zadam was still next to her as she slowly falls. Everything was is slow motion like even the time was holding it breath. Her left ear rings like someone scream next to her... or like this time when Ryle woke everybody up with that horrible boat horn. She expect the ground to hits her hard, except it was soft. For some seconds she was laying down on the ground until she realized that the bullet never hits her. The soldier girl lift her rifle and grunt. She gave her usual yet so familiar looks to Zadam, the big sister schooling her little brother, covering for his mess, once more.
''No way I would be punish because of your weakness Zad, I shoot, yet seems that I miss. On purpose maybe, but don't make me regret this. We can't be weak here, if you do, you won't wake up tomorrow, you will be the one who would being shot and GODS know that Shal wait for this so he can put a bullet between your sweet eyes, child.''
It took some moments before she had the reflex to look around. Lavana lift her head and looks at the two soldiers, realizing her luck to still be alive. But she couldn't make her mind, run and maybe get shot or accept her faith?
