They were reunite at last! Lavana felt her heart burst with joy. No more endless night wondering where is he, if he’s fine, if he moved on? They can now have their happy ever and after but brats’ style of course. She’s not a princess after all… Well She was his princess and that’s only thing that matter.
The fairy girl glare back at the soldier. She felt stronger, more than ever with him by her side. Like in the old days when they fight the shock for the first time.
“ I knew you would come and save me! I’m so happy! Let’s kick his ugly butt and go home together”
But Lavana’s blood freeze and eyes became full of fear like she was seeing the whole shock army. She pull Zadam’s sleeve and gave him same face right before they were split appart five years ago.
“Come on Zadam! We need to flee! We can overrun one soldier but not that many! I… I don’T want to lose you ever again!’‘
She grabs the boy’s arm in an attempt to make him move at last. Her voice cracked as she continue.
‘‘I cry too many nights, trying to find sleep snuggling with your old jacket… It does not smell like you anymore…P-Please come back home with me! I’m begging you!’‘
A loud growl slowly rise behind the soldier and soon the ground shakes under his feet, like a thousand trinosaurds were running toward him. The air went dry and the soft white light became hotter… like tree suns. They were now back on the base planet. The growl split into a hundred shout, it was disorienting but a familiar voice breaks this horrible orchestra.
’'Come on Zad! Shoot them! They will flee!!”
A familiar yet blurry silhouette stand next to the soldier and cock her gun.
“If you don’t shoot them NOW, I’ll! No fucking way I’ll stay in this hell because you. The quicker you shoot them the sooner you will see your girlfriend!”
The silhouette was clearly aiming at the two love bird.
‘‘One rock, two birds as they say’‘
“Lavana, you got it all wrong!” Zadam was so ready to tell her the truth. Who he really was and what he had become. He didn’t think twice of the other Zadam before them both. There was just this pulse, the voice that couldn’t quit telling him that he shouldn’t let his own self get in the way. But as he’d know his own self, the fourteen year-old kid wouldn’t stand back.
“Lavana, there’s nowhere else to go. I have to defeat him. I have to. It’s the only way I can save you.” The younger Zadam replied to her pleading. “Don’t worry, you never truly lost me. You never will.”
Zadam’s heart skipped a beat at his kid self’s words. Somehow, he felt that was a lie if it was coming from his own mouth. He wasn’t the same kid who spoke those words so sure. He was a soldier with a mission, hands sullied with the blood of those he had to kill for freedom. And that kid...that kid was long gone.
And he was. In a blink of an eye, there was only Lavana standing there. And then, he turned to the chaos that happened simultaneously as his thoughts, finding one of his feisty comrades aiming at the Lozian girl.
“RIONA, NO!”
He immediately jumped at her arm, with all intentions of lowering the firearm to the ground before that finger pulls the trigger. But time had slowed. He was getting farther and farther from the gun as if a blackhole was sucking him away, Lavana’s salvation sinking in the distance.
“DONT SHOOT!”
But did she fire?
