Parties of this nature were definitely not Frankâs scene but he was a good sport about it. Alice had gone off to mingle and Frank had made a beeline for what was, in his opinion, the most important part of a party, the food table. And that was where he now stood, basically trying to avoid having awkward conversations with people.
After what felt like an appropriate amount of socializing, Alice had gone in search of her husband. She still wore her heels, although she was leaning toward kicking them off again - next time, she was wearing flats no matter what her mum thought of that. When she finally spotted him, Alice made a beeline for Frank and slipped up beside him, tucking her hand into his arm. âHave we put in enough time, do you think?â
