Wanderer(s) above the Sea (of Fog). Speed painting practise.

I just keep thinking about that painting every time I see that certain Black Sails s4 picture of Captain Flint gazing at the sea. Not sure if it’s intentional in any way or what it could mean on a meta level but I just really like it. If someone wants to do a proper comparison with better quality and the original pictures, please do! Do not repost this doodle pic elsewhere, though ahahaha :)

Something about this picture is strange, and I think that’s a reflection of how I’m still wondering about these two, and puzzling over the show as a whole. As a general rule I am a fan of happy endings, so I’d like to think that Madi and John worked through things in some way and found peace, but I can’t even imagine what that would look like. I don’t have a good handle on John as a character generally, so I’d love me some fanfic that explores a “what if” of these two post-finale *hint hint*

Ships on spoons experiment. (The Walrus from Black Sails again…♥)

Here I used: I) Shrink plastic for the ships (+marker pen, coloured pencils), II) old tea spoons (these had a nice golden hue in their bowl part), III) some acrylic paint for the sea and clouds, IV) wooden boards for the background, V) some wire, hot glue and staples to hold things together, VI) tools: a drill, pliers, a staple gun, sandpaper etc.

I would’ve wanted to try some driftwood for the background but I didn’t have any and instead sawed the pieces from an old shelf (thickness about 18 mm). It looks pretty nice though! I might paint the sides with some metallic acryl paint later to have some nice light reflections on the wall.
