Everyone is talking about retail workers in the holiday season....Have you ever worked in security in silly season... That shit is crazy so many incidents, people going crazy in last minute shopping... dispatching your vehicles is a complete mess ... and no leave can be taken over December so if you are booked to work on Christmas sorry plans i made months ago duty calls.. the struggle is real...

So don’t buy a fridge to replace an old noisy costy boi when i get 33% off of an a+++ handsome one. Let me just pay ‘em that +33% too, actually the half of my paycheck later as i walk by & ignore the sales.

And let’s feel bad about it when i do purchase anyway as i must, and later read these ignorous posts, these fake-christs who does not realise, someone could put a good use in this, needs the sales, and not fun-picking or luxury-hunting down the alisle 23th.

The deals are fake, and if you went later in the year you’d find the products for the same rates as the “deals.”

You trying to find some uber specific situation to justify an ultra hectic, violent day that companies use to manipulate you to spend more money than you need to and actually risk the health and well being of the employees being abused to serve you isn’t a good look bud.

But what about the employees who volunteered to work those days so they can get pay and a half? Also there are seasonal employees who get hired just for Black Friday sales and those people deserve to be rehired for an extra paycheck every year.

Considering I wrote this while prepping a Black Friday for Walmart who forces you to work that day and literally has figured out how to scam the system and no longer pays time and a half ever, for anything, go the fuck away.

No shit the deals are fake. And plenty of the products that are “Black Friday specials” are literally a shittier version of the regular model, and aren’t sold earlier in the year.

And nobody’s hiring just for Black Friday anyway. Holiday season temp workers yes, just BF hell no. Your average Saturday in December is more profitable.

I’ve personally worked several Black Friday midnight opens in retail (housewares and electronics, different stores) and seriously, fuck Black Friday. It’s a big marketing scam and you as a consumer don’t have to fall for it.
