Confession: I have a friend who likes to text me at like 4am when heâs had nightmares or he canât sleep or he just needs a friend. He thinks Iâm always awake at 4am but really I go to bed around 12am and I change his text-tone to the loudest one I have just so it wakes me up when he needs me.
youâre the kind of friend everyone needs
I think that since its been a year since I made this post its time for an update. In the past year Iâve watched this post grow and grow, people I work with have told me about it as âthis post I saw the other dayâ and they have no idea itâs my post. The person I wrote this about has even reblogged it. He is no longer texting me at 4am. Not because we no longer speak but because the nightmares have stopped. He and I both are in a much better place. Most often the only times heâs waking me up at 4am is when heâs pulling me closer to him while we sleep. Heâs more than a friend now and Iâm forever thankful to have him. Everyone messaged me saying he was lucky to have me but I think I was just as lucky to have him and I would do it all over.
The update just makes it even better â¤ď¸

THE SIGNS AND THEIR TIME OF DAY (EXPLAINED)
Aries: Noon. Just as the day, truly, begins. The sun hanging in the middle of the sky with a promising reassurance for a great day. The jubilant glow of the patches of sunlight filtering through windows and trees.
Taurus: Just Beginning Nighttime. When the light of the moon is bright, and the stars are just beginning to peek into the night sky. The relaxing feelings of being alone, and just enjoying the silence.
Gemini: Early Evening. Just as the rush of the day begins to settle down, and the sky dances with marvelous orange colors. The sense of accomplishment for making it through another day.
Cancer: Just Before Nighttime. Right after the sun is no longer in the horizon, but light is still able to be seen. The high energy of a new night and new adventures. Excitement.
Leo: End of the Night. When you should be asleep, but somehow managed to stay awake. The light of a new day barely visible, but somehow there. The confusion and frustration that dawns at the realization of lack of sleep. //usually followed by naps.
Virgo: Late in the Morning. Just as the sun is getting to the center of the sky, the reassured feeling of finally feeling fully awake. The rush of the busy day.
Libra: Nighttime. When the sun is gone, and the moon is high in the sky. Just before the stars are fully visible. The laziness that accompanies the exhaustion of the end of a long day, but also the silent buzzing of a need for rest.
Scorpio: End of Noon. Just before the evening begins, and the sun is at a beautiful yellowy Orange in the sky. The sense of peace and calm when looking into the sky. The smell of fresh air and cut grass.
Sagittarius: Early Early in the Morning. When no one else is awake, and the sun is barely up itself. The crisp feeling of a new day, and the relief of getting through the night. The comfy feeling of just waking up.
Capricorn: Middle of the Night. When its so dark that the only light comes from the moon and the stars. The eerie silence of the night, and the serenity of the nothingness all around.
Aquarius: Evening. Just before the sun tucks itself away for the night, when the sky is lit up in beautiful colors. The intense, vibrant horizon that calls for a day to finally be ending that can reflect in ones emotions.
Pisces: Morning. When the sun is hanging in the sky with the warmth piercing through your window. The softness of the beginning of the day, and the haze of the quiet morning sun.

A very poignant documentary indeed.
Iâm not saying that Lupita Nyongâo is a real-life Disney princess, but hey, if the shoe fitsâŚ
I am I am 100% saying that
If a young woman in middle school or high school hangs up a poster of Barack Obama in her room, this is seen as acceptable. Itâs fine for women to admire men and want to be like them. If a young man (the same age) hangs up a poster of Hillary Clinton in his room, this is seen as odd (maybe even troubling, is he gay? Oh no!). Society tells us young men canât think of women as role models, unless theyâre a family member, whereas young women can admire and seek to emulate anyone, regardless of gender. If youâre a young man, and if you have a poster on your wall with a woman, she had better be half-naked in a bikini, even if the Ronald Reagan or Gen. Patton poster next to it obviously features the man fully-clothed. Young men are not to taught to think of women as role models. They are taught to think of them as either family members or sexual objects. There is no other category presented.

My baby brotherâs first girlfriend recently confessed to thinking they were actually a boy. I asked my brother if this bothered him. His response was:
"Well, yeah. If I had have known they were a boy when we were going out, I would have said I had a boyfriend, not a girlfriend."
He was ten.
