Days 19 & 20: Friend & Enemy

Hello, another Witchversary thing :)

A short story about Yan Lin searching for the last bits of the Nerissa she knew as a friend.. about how difficult she was.. about how Cassidy might have been able to approach Nerissa in a way that the others could not.. including the reasons why Cassidy was chosen to keep the Heart

I made notes for this story 8 years ago - funny thing is I had no idea then that there was a Nerissa/Cassidy canon declared. I also had not watched the cartoon then, so this is generally based on the comics (Nerissa and Yan Lin being close, the theme of the flute..). Meaning - it was actually not meant as a ship, rather as a very special friendship thing, but if anyone wants to see that as ship, feel free... it is left open

I also kind of made up their age structure then, I don't know if it makes sense with canon, but whatever

Ehm, all right. It is still angst, but like, the idea, angsty in principle, happened a long time ago, I can do nothing about it now!

Psylocke: oh? so you're saying that you prefer the rare, non battle ready version of me?

Sabertooth: Never thought I would until now.

Psylocke: Well Mr.Creed, luckily for you, I prefer seeing you like this aswell. Less bruises, more roses.

Sabertooth: Well darlin' if you keep lookin' like this, there'll be way more roses where they came from.

Psylocke: I hope so.

The only thing I can say about writing right now is that you don’t need to polish or even finish everything you write. Unfinished works hold value just as intrinsically as finished ones; if finishing a project holds no appeal, move on. Maybe one day you’ll return to it, find an idea to nurture and raise. Maybe you’ll never look at it again, but the words were still written. The sentences were crafted. This unfinished thing is a sketch, then, forgotten in the depths of your sketchbook; why should we hold writers to different standards than other artists? Play around and have fun. Finish projects if you want to; move on if you don’t. Don’t guilt yourself over something with no moral bearing. Just write.

What The characters from the witcher series would be like as parents: Triss Merigold

- Kind, caring, nurturing, and supportive.

- The two of you would be close as fuck.

- When you were little, she'd spoil you rotten.

- She'd always get you whatever you wanted the newest toys, clothes, games, etc.

- If you were told that you couldn't have something, she'd let you have it anyway.

- Sometimes, you and her will have a mom and son/daughter day.

- If it's mom and daughter day you'd both get manicures, go to a spa, shop at the mall, eat at a restaurant, visit a book store, grab a pumpkin spice, etc.

- A mom and son day would be going out for pizza, a trip to the game store, going to a concert etc.

- Loves showing people your baby pictures.

- Her favorite picture is the one she has in her wallet where she's holding you after giving birth.

-She has a habit of calling you by one of the pet names she gave you when you were little.

- She has a scrapbook where she keeps your umbilical cord, pictures from your ultrasound, footprints, handprints, your certificate, lock of hair, and first moments.

- Whenever you feel down, she'll cheer you up by cooking your favorite meal as she listens to you vent.

I want to thank you for all the advice of "write first, edit second" because it's singlehandedly getting me through my thesis. I'm a very slow writer but I’ve considerably improved my speed ever since I've stopped trying to get the perfect sentence from the get-go AND this allows me to stop getting distracted every few seconds from the idea I'm meant to illustrate.
