Due to request... Day two in new york!
Got up just before 7, had lunch for breakfast at Pax, was very delicious, gonna go there again tommorrow, it is right near out hotel so it is super convenient.
Walked over to Times Square to catch our tour bus which took us right to The Museum of Natural History, but before we entered we took a little walk through Central Park and saw the John Lennon memorial. A lot smaller than I thought it would be, but I guess that is understandable, however, it was cute to hear that Yoko Ono lives in a building right next to the park that overlooks the memorial.
The Museum of Natural History was awesome. There was stuff from everywhere! I mainly looked at all the animals, but there was stuff from all the different early human civilizations. As almost always happens with me, I was amazed at the size of the animals. The bison, the buffalo, the jellyfish, THE BLUE WHALE. Looking at that model of the biggest animal to ever live on the planet made me realise that my number one goal in life/bucket list item, is to see a blue whale in person. If I fainted, fell of the boat and drowned after seeing one of them in person I would be perfectly okay with that. Oh and a giant Sequoia, it would have to see them both, I could either drown or the sequoia could fall and crush me. Don't wanna spend too much time writing about this because I would be up forever. But basically I wanna spend a year in new york and just spend my time between this museum, the met and central park. I would be in heaven.
That being said, I did a huge injustice to the park by using that picture, but yeah, I was too busy having the time of my life, but at the same time coming to grips with the fact that some people hate my photography, to take any really good pictures. But we climbed rocks and saw fat wiener dogs and so many cool trees and buildings and everything. It would be amazing to see it in the summer, but it was still amazing to see it now!
After The Museum of Natural History and a very pleasant walk through central park we intended to hit up The Solomon Guggenheim Museum. Unfortunately, they were getting a new installation in and didn't really have that much on show. What we did see was cool, a lot of scrap metal pieces... a lot. The building itself was also really cool, as you can see by the picture. Kinda sad though, and it reopened two days after we leave too, so that hurt even more. But I that didn't dampen our spirits at all, cause we are in NEW YORK!!!
There is much more to tell, we are only just past lunch, but it is almost 1:30, and we have to be up kinda early again tommorrow so I am going to have to end here. Plus tumblr only allows 10 pictures. So I guess that works out.
