i was tidepooling today and overheard someone say 'chatgpt it so we can figure out what it is' about some sort of creature. loser behavior. you're not in it for the love of the game. i have to do everything around here. let me see the creature. i'll tell you the real answer about what it is and i won't kill the environment. AND i'm literally nice.
it's funny because 5 minutes before that i was IDing something by using the search string "SEA SLUG GREEN STRIPED SMALL SEATTLE" which took me to a very badly designed, hauntingly non mobile optimized website that immediately gave me way more information about my creature than i needed or thought was possible. get good. bitch
hold my hand. come with me to emeralddiving.com's salish sea species index.
Halkeria Evangelista
“The halkieriids are a group of fossil organisms from the Lower to Middle Cambrian. They have been found on almost every continent in Lower to Mid Cambrian deposits, forming a large component of the small shelly fossil assemblages. The animal looked like slugs in chain mail - 1.5 centimetres to 8 centimetres long, bilaterally symmetric, flattened from top to bottom and unarmored on the bottom. Very near each end there is a shell plate with prominent growth lines rather like the growth rings of trees. The rest of the upper surface was covered with about 2,000 sclerites that overlapped each other like tiles and formed three zones with sclerites of different shapes. The shellplates were probably made of calcium carbonate, and made detailed fossilization possible.”

I havent been posting enough art in my art blog,,,,
Small mockup/proof of concept of an experimental video technique, one which I have dubbed "Jumpcalm". I am looking to further develop this idea for use in psychotherapy and mental health practices at scale.
it's too early for this. actually there's no right time in the universe to be subjected to this
Their work dynamic makes me want to draw more of them as office workers

“Australia Day” is almost over and I haven’t even seen the photo of Burnum Burnum planting the Aboriginal flag on the cliffs of Dover and claiming Britain for the Indigenous people of Australia on my dash yet

Doing some deep reading into Cherokee history for the project that I'm working on and I am continually amazed how fucking funny old Cherokee leaders were
sorry to double reblog but something about this one in particular really grips me. the toilet (and possible bidet?) being higher elevation than the tub seems fundamentally evil and wrong in a way i cannot articulate. the structure in far back corner of the room in particular is like an Elephant's Foot of interior design, with all the same visual appeal (what is that sloped section?) and lethality (they absolutely designed the shelves by the tub to put as many sharp corners around head height as possible to kill anyone slipping while climbing out).
what really got me thinking here was the complete lack of a showerhead. this tub is going to end up largely unused and start collecting dust in the basin (just like that weird unreachable flat surface at the top of the Elephant's Foot). eventually this will just become That One Weird Bathroom that no one really uses. the owners' kid is going to throw a party here, someone really drunk is going to ask them where a bathroom is, they're going to be pointed to this room, open the door, miss the light switch, trip + hit their temple in any one of at least three different ways, bleed out, and die. this bathroom is designed to kill people
