Revisited this animation to test a new way to animated his face.

I decided to replace the 3D face topology with a flat panel, and drawing the face with grease pencil. It was soooo worth it, this is way more freeing and fun.

Watched Project Hail Mary for the first time a few days ago and I’m obsessed. The way James Ortiz brings life to Rocky is so mesmerizing to see. I love seeing artists do what they love.

I technically wanted to draw a human version of Rocky but eventually settled for a one sitting session portrait of James <3 8 hours well spent.
