Itharius had been poking fun at Luna a bit much lately. He realized too late that his “fun” was becoming more hurtful than it was fun. His eyes drifted down to the pavement as he walked. He wasn’t sure what had gotten into him, but he suddenly realized (well, not so suddenly….
He smiled at her, the sight was enough to make him smile in the darkest of days. Today was truly a dark day, but he needed her light.
"I was terrible the other day…messing with you like I did. I took it too far my love. Please forgive me." He held the roses out, and bowed, his head down, hoping she would forgive him.
She took them and bid him to stand. “My sweet Itharius, there is nothing for you to apologize for.” She took the roses from him and smiled. She cupped his jaw in her hand, placing her thumb over the dimple on his chin. “I understand what it has been like for you since you came back from the dead…and since your brother died. You want to cling to whatever happiness you can.”
He smiled, a toothy smile, relief washing over him.
"yes my love, but i promise it won't go that far again. I swear it." He held her hand, and the held her other. Walking over to the window seat, he say, positioning himself so that she could sit and recline comfortably.
