The simple fact that in the WOW Arya chapter we see Tyrion presented as a straightforward villain in a play digs a grave for the notion that Tyrion is going to become a villain. If ASOIAF tries to be anything it tries to be a narrative that disproves simplistic fairytale logic. That’s why Prince Charming murders his betrothed’s father in front of her, that’s why there are no true knights, that’s why the true knight is the homely teenage girl, that’s why the evil queen and wicked stepmother is forced to submit to humiliating punishment for one of the only things she did that was objectively not bad. That’s why Jaime is the valonqar and why Sandor isn’t going to get revenge on his brother and why Quentin’s hero’s journey ends in flames. ASOIAF is, super transparently, a story about stories. Why on earth would Tyrion be a retread of one of the oldest and most flawed stories in the universe - the one where the disabled, disfigured man ~ really understandably ~ becomes an iconic villain? Nope. No. Not in the text, not in the subtext, not on a meta level, no.

I want an inverse spy flick. The spy is a woman. Her whole team is made up of diverse women. All the villains are women.
