Arcane Denial If you can't foil it out, pimp it out. Another piece for a local EDH deck, altering pieces that aren't available in foil printings. 93 foils, 7 alters done by me. Quite the impressive deck at this point

Teferi Commission for local EDH player's deck. Wanted something unique that 'popped' and was noticeable. Don't often do this style very often so it was a great opportunity to get to explore.
Power Artifact Forgot to post pictures of the last half of the alters on a commander deck I was working on. Owner wanted to keep artist's signature so I opted to only do the top half of the card. Older cards have a wonderful color pallet to work with and getting the dapple texture to the color in the background was so much fun to recreate.
Mana Vault Fourth in the series of alters for an #EDH deck for a friend at my LGS. Took a while to get all the soft shading and color matching, but the time was well worth it. Really enjoy how this piece came out :-)
Mystic Remora Card number two of five for a friend at the LGS and his EDH deck. Lots of fun using soft brush techniques to dapple the color and add layering effects to copy the mist/water droplets from the original art. Picture looks flat compared to in person (not a statement I often make). Needs a little work around the bottom and then it will ready to go
Toxic Deluge Overall a rather easy and fun one to do, I haven't done much work doing the distressed look much before, and as I keep looking at it I feel there is more to go back and do, but for tonight I am calling it done. Card number three of five for my friend's EDH deck.
Lim Dul's Vault Piece I am doing for a friend at my LGS for his EDH deck. One of the five cards in his deck that he can't get in foil, so we are going the alter route to fully pimp his deck
Brainstorm (not snow storm) Just another night of working on cards while the weather outside is not so great. Quiz and easy piece, probably will go through again later and sharpen up some line work and shading. Moving on for now.
Back (Hopefully more often)
It's been a while since I have posted on Tumblr. Been doing cards yes, but only in short bursts. To contribute to my delinquency here on Tumblr is my having joined Twitter @lorddojang where I have been tweeting out my work there. Hopefully I will be back for good here as well and will be posting my backlog of cards done to my blog here as well :-)
Sisters of Stone Death Back in the saddle with this EDH Commander for one of the guys at the local shop. Had to think how to finish the bottom half of the card as the artwork didn't lend itself to going much further down. The way the light and energy moves in this card caught my attention and I tried to capture the flow with the cape and the tree roots. Can't wait to see the owners face when it's delivered this week. :-) As always, message me here or email me at LordDojang at gmail dot com if you would like to commission a piece for yourself.
Sun Petal Grove After torturing myself with the clouds on Dromoka The Eternal (see previous post) I came across my unfinished piece that I was working on and decided to finish it off. Main reason for choosing to do it was that I had all the colors for the clouds on my pallet, and I realized I had promised someone a long time ago that I would do one for them. Having just worked through the clouds on Dromoka, it was easier than I had figured and enjoyed finishing off the piece. Just need to ship it out now. Always open for commissions, message me with any questions
Dromoka The Eternal Another one to add for my commander collection, was nearly the death of me with the clouds. Was consistently frustrated by trying to match the color and texture. This is one of the difficulties with altering cards that were done with digital artwork as opposed to traditional media. In the end I am happy with how it turned out given the frustrations that I dealt with on it. Always available for commissions, contact me for questions
Sight Beyond Sight #2 Second in my series for this card. This card had been finished for a while, just had a mistake that I was waiting to go back and correct but never got around to it (yay life!) Dont know if I will ever get around to finishing the full playset, as this isn't seeing constructed play, but it might be nice to have the set in my binder
Basic Island Another full art basic land for my FNM/draft decks. I like painting these for fun but never put 100% into them as they are usually warm up pieces for the night, even when I am doing non-Magic the Gathering cards-related paintings. Still always seem to catch the eyes of fellow players at FNM, so they are worth it. :-)
Blossoming Sands A 'I didn't have a lot of time or energy but I still wanted to paint tonight ' project. Usually I do these as warm ups just to get myself going before working on other cards, but this is all I had the stamina for tonight. Just a basic little throw in for any decks I might be running in standard or maybe toss into a commander deck to pimp it out more. Although it looks like some heavy/thick paint brushstrokes in a few places, it's actually very thin and just the way I applied the layers of paint Always available for trade or sale, open for commissions as well.
Lightning Berserker Liked the artwork and colors on this one, and found the card to be playable in standard at the same time. Know a few guys at the LGS who are running this card in their decks. As always, open for commissions by messaging me here on my tumblr or at [email protected]
Sight Beyond Sight Felt this was somewhat obvious/obligatory for anyone who was a child of the 80's. Very simple execution using basic colors. Had a couple of ideas how I wanted to try this, so I am going to make a whole playset of them varying on the theme. This one may go as a sale to someone at my LGS so I may be making more of them
