â: attack on the bandits // machinegunminister
From above, a huge, burly man with a thick beard and a long braid of black hair - ostensibly the leader of the bandits - raised his sword, jabbing it in the direction of the two Guos.
"I donât give a damn what you do with the soldiers, but those two? I want them brought back ALIVE with us. Cao Caoâs bound to pay a pretty penny to get his precious strategist back!â he roared, commanding his men. They raised a cry and began to flood down the sides of the hill, the ground rumbling with their advancing footsteps.
Guo Huai swung the arm cannon to connect with one of the bandits already surrounding them, sending him flying.Â
"It seems theyâve got plans for usâŚ" he said grimly. "We canât allow them to take us, alive or otherwise. I canât imagine Lord Cao Cao being terribly pleased with me if I allowed myself to have you captured."
As the oncoming swarm of bandits came their way, Boji turned his horse around, aiming the cannon into the group and firing off a barrage of shots.
"We'll just have to crush their plans now won't--"
Guo Jia had dismounted from his horse, but it wasn't by choice. He had been rushed by the swarm of men, a pained yelp escaping the strategist as soon as he hit the ground. His grip on his weapon was tight, but he had been left dazed. A few kicks to his side had shocked him back into focus, but even then there wasn't much he could do.
From his spot on the ground, he swung his scepter as best he could, attempting to fight off his assailants. It wasn't enough to clear him a path, but he wasn't about to take the abuse he was receiving without some kind of payback. He had managed to strike two of the men kicking at him, knocking them to the ground.
"Master Guo Huai, some--hrgh--assistance--ah--please!" The blonde managed after scrambling up onto his knees, but he was kicked back down soon enough.
Though he was in a rather desperate situation, Fengxiao would keep his tone from reflecting on that. This wasn't the most ideal way to start a fight, that was certain.
Speaking with Himself
That was just what he wanted to hear, even if this person hadnât been âhimâ, the mere fact that they had something to drink was enough to lift Jiaâs spiritsâ higher than they previously were anyways.
"Now I know you are meâ because if I could, Iâd carry wine around with me all day and all night. Not to say Iâd be drinking all day and all night either, but itâd just be good to have around.." Jia, now at full attention, would wander past his doppelganger as the strategist then motioned to the large table toward the back end of the room. "We can stay here and share the drink if youâd like. or we can head out to the main hallâ although we may have some explaining to do if someone spots us."
Decisions, decisions... Guo Jia didn't take long thinking about his options. If he ran into somebody else... with himself... That would get exceptionally messy. He may have had a silver tongue, but there was no way he'd be able to explain himself. Literally.
"I'd rather not risk being seen. Not that I wouldn't mind being seen with myself, but... Do you happen to have an explanation provided that we get caught? I most certainly do not. Perhaps it'd be best if we stayed here."
He gestured forward, allowing his twin to move ahead of him to the table in the back of the room. Guo Jia couldn't help but look back over his shoulder for a moment, but it passed quickly.
"Once we sit down, you can tell me all about this multi-headed snake. It sounds quite interesting."

"Hmph, hardly" Sima Yi scoffed, staring down the older man with a look of disinterest.Â
"One would have thought you had some lovely young maiden to entertain here or there" The strategist remarked, golden eyes turning back to his book. But it had far exhausted its use, and he could probably recite each page, sentence by sentence.
"I do not attend parties lest my presence is required, my Lord, I cannot afford to waste time drinking when there is work to take care of, besides⌠Those troublesome generals cannot tell the difference between men and women these days when theyâre half wasted"
"That's what you'd think, yes... But I simply couldn't take this young woman home with me after the party."
Guo Jia turned to the shelves once Sima Yi had returned his gaze to his book. Surely he'd find something of interest here. Reading was something he enjoyed in his spare time, but it wasn't considered a priority above his two favorites: wine and women.
"You could tell that she had too much to drink. There isn't much to explain beyond that... I didn't feel right with the idea of bringing her home."
After a few moments of his hands tracing along books on the shelf, he grabs one that catches his interests in particular. He sits himself across from the other strategist, flashing him a smile.Â
"I understand the importance of work, Master Sima Yi, but surely you'd feel much better if you loosened up every once in a while. If you're wound too tightly, who knows when you'll snap."
"As for the other men... Well, all it takes is a good shove back. I don't let them get in the way of my fun."
Speaking with Himself
So it seemed that they didnât share the same memories,so maybe they werenât that exactly alike, but most of that didnât matter to Jia, because if this other version of himself liked to drink just as much as he didâ everything would be as ok as it could be.
"I wouldnât have it any other way~! We can discuss it over a nice drinâ Err hold onâŚWould you happen to have anything to drink though? Iâm afraid my wife keeps the alcohol as far away from me as possible.â
"She keeps the alcohol from you? Quite unfortunate to hear, actually." Guo Jia blinked, looking all the more confused. He hadn't even thought about having a wife, and yet... Here he was in front of himself... Who had one! The confused look faded quickly though as the blonde gestured to his bag with a smile.
"I happen to carry wine on me. It's not enough to host an entire banquet, of course, but it should be enough for us both."
"Should you lead the way, I'll gladly follow you, Fengxiao." Goodness, saying his own name was something he'd have to get used to.

"Ah, my Lord! What a pleasant surprise. Have you been doing well?"
â: attack on the bandits // machinegunminister
Guo Huai came to a halt beside Guo Jia, weapon at the ready. The area was eerily quiet - he couldnât see any signs of life within the camp, nor could he hear anything that might indicate that the enemy had spotted them. He raised a hand for their troops to stop as he glanced around, an uneasy feeling welling in his chest.
"I donât want to jump to conclusions, but that might be the caseâŚ"
Without warning, from the hills above each side of the path, he could hear the sound of bowstrings tightening. Bandits emerged on both sides, several of them aiming bows down at the two generals - the others clutched swords and spears, all of them grinning down at the men.
"âŚWell, Master Guo Jia, Iâd say itâs about time to improvise, wouldnât you say?"
It was definitely time to improvise. Almost as if on cue, the bandits from the higher ground rushed down towards them and their own band of troops. Guo Jia nodded towards Boji in response, tightly gripping onto the reigns of his horse and pulling them. He moves to keep himself from being surrounded as best he could, harshly swinging his scepter forward to send one of the bandits flying.
"We have no choice but to fight them off here. This wasn't exactly how I had expected things to go, but we'll have to simply make do with what we've got."
Quickly turning his head to evaluate the situation again, he knew he'd have to dismount his horse eventually. He may have been talented in battle, but there was only so much he could do without the ability to manipulate his orbs.
Chen Gong raised a single index finger! A smile on his face! âOF course I am! Passion is part of ambition! And ambition is great!â
"Is it safe to assume that you would be fun to drink with? It'd prove to be interesting, at the very least... Perhaps when you're free from your duties, you could join me sometime."
"But that is what I mean! Plans coming together! A master tactic! Regiments crushed! Men lost! Dozens~! AND DOZENS! AND DOZENS!!"
"Your excitability is to be admired, that's for certain..." Guo Jia chuckled, shaking his head. He reaches his hand over and gives Chen Gong a pat on the shoulder. "I wonder if you're this passionate outside of strategic matters."
"No! No! No! It is just strategy! You know how it is right? Imagining plans coming together! Devastating ones!"
He grinned! Â A fellow strategist had to know!
"Ah... I understand. Though I'll admit that strategy isn't the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of 'fantasy'. Still, it must be exciting all the same, I suppose, if it's getting this kind of smile out of you."
"But more satisfying than the thought of strategies themselves is the thought of them succeeding."
