Remembering my mom. Her garden is starting to bloom. Both my mom & obaachan would be outside in their gardens. This month is also significant because April 1949 is when Japanese Canadians were released from incarceration. It was four years after the Second World War ended and the last of the wartime measures ended in March31, 1949. About 22,000 Japanese Canadians, babies to seniors, had been forcibly uprooted from their homes, dispossessed, incarcerated/interned, and exiled from 1942 to 1949. No evidence.
