Nesta is my favorite, after reading all three of the books I can finally say, I love Nesta; and Cassian, well, how can you not love Cassian. They are perfect apart but together they complete each other, they are absolutely my favorite couple of this saga though they aren’t actually a couple!!

Rhysand - Should I list all of his powers? Cause I can. There is Darkness manipulation, winnowing, and daemati powers. There is glamouring and misting and flying. And there is also his training as an Illyrian soldier. He is Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court. The most powerful High Lord there is. So my word to the wise is don’t do it. Don’t think about it. Don’t even dream about it. Because you’d be dead before you even drew a blade.

Amren - She’s not Rhys’ second in command for nothing. I mean he is some ancient demon being thing that has escaped an island prison that is supposed to be impossible to leave. Plus she drinks blood. Now, if that doesn’t deter you, the last time Amren and Mor fought they destroyed a house. All I’m trying to say is Don’t fight her. Like honesty DO NOT FIGHT HER.

Azriel - He can turn into shadows. He needs seven Siphons to keep his power in check. He is the High Lord and Lady’s Spymaster. He would obliterate you. I’d advise against it.

Cassian - He is in charge of the Night Court’s army. He is in Illyrian warrior and was the best one in his camp at a young age. And like Az he needs seven Siphons. If you fought him … Well you’d be DEAD. So just don’t.

Mor - ABORT MISSION. ABORT ABORT ABORT. She may look like a princess in her fancy beautiful expensive clothes but she is THE Morrgian. She would castrate you without blinking, or flog you while smiling. SHE. WILL. KILL. YOU.

Tarquin - The mermaid king who sends his enimies blood dimonds. WHY DO YOU WANT TO HURT HIM ????? Just be aware that he can flood his city and still be able to spare his allies/soldiers in the process. So really, if you fight him, you’ve just sentenced yourself to die.  

Nesta - She beheaded the King of Hybern. Don’t cross her. Like, ever. Cause if she doesn’t physically maim you, you can bet your ass her words will.

Elain - She may look sweet and innocent and an easy prey, but I’ll have you know she stabbed the King of Hybern in the neck with Truth Teller. She is fierce and fighting her is your funeral. Cause going after her means Nesta and Lucien and Azriel and Feyre and basically a lot of people will be going after you.

Lucien - So out of everyone he might be on the easy side. But he got the nickname “Fox” for a reason. (And it’s not just because of his hair) He WILL hurt you. Maybe he won’t kill you, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t capable of it. All I’m saying is I advise against it.

Tamlin -  He may be a tool that is 5% good, and as much as he should be punished for what he did to Feyre and his people, I wouldn’t recommend going after him. Cause his beast mode is scary. As well as his temper. And he WILL kill you.

Amarantha - THE BITCH NEEDS TO DIE. Oh wait, she is dead. But if she were alive, I’d still say KILL HER. I’m just not so sure how well that might turn out.

Ianthe - THE BITCH CAN BURN. She needs to die. But like with Amarntha I’m not sure if you’d survive.

The King of Hybern - A formidable opponent, no doubt. And like DIE MOTHERFUCKER. But you would be killed in the process. Do I have to remind everyone about what he did to Cassian’s wings?

Elide Lochan theory!

Okay. So I know I just posed about Elide being a Crochan. But today @mechanicalbookdummy messaged me and asked if I’d considered the fact that maybe Elide is a Demi-witch because her grandfather was a Crochan male? And I can tell you right now, if that thought has ever crossed my mind I do NOT remember it.

It would certainly explain her red blood.

It is mentioned in Heir of Fire that Marion was bastard-born and had been a laundress in the palace from her childhood. Her parents might have been murdered by Ironteeth witches. However,as far as I can remember,Evalin was part-Fae which means that she could have smelled Marion’s heritage. Maybe Marion was a demi-which,but without any abilities.Evalin never inherited the ability to shift into animal form,but Aelin did. Also,it is mentioned that the first Crochan witch Manon killed had dark hair(Elide’s hair is described as night-black).I don’t think Sarah would have mentioned it if it wasn’t important,but the witch was too young(16 years old).

Definitely not a bad person for not being mad at Lorcan. I agree! I think Lorcan did the wrong thing for the right reason and I think the fandom forgets that Aelins could have taken action to stop herself from being taken by Maeve. Aelin could have moved her fleet/boat or something to give the others (Illias and Galan) time to help them but instead she stayed. Lorcan made a promise to Elide that he would help/protect/find her always and we learn that promises are very sacred to Lorcan [1]

We knew Lorcan wasn’t going to break a promise but we also knew he was probably the most dedicated of the cadre. He thought Maeve would help him protect Elide and he shouldn’t be hated for believing that because Lorcan obviously didn’t see what the fandom saw because he is not a reader with knowledge of the other interactions going on. I think the fandom wants to side with Aelin and Elide (which is fine, go right ahead) but they forget that Aelin isn’t a perfect ruler and Elide [2]

doesn’t /always/ think with her head. None of the characters were right but I’m honestly more mad at Aelin for her choices in anticipation of Maeve’s fleet. People are throwing Lorcan under the bus/getting angry at him for /trying/ to be a decent human being and aren’t seeing his redemption arc from HoF-EoS through his interactions with other characters. I fully support you not being mad at Lorcan (sorry that was so long winded I just have lots of feels about Lorcan) [3]

I absolutely agree with you babe. The thing that drives me insane is that I KNOW if Rowan or Aedion or Aelin or Elide were in a position to make that decision in order to save the person they love, more than half of the people who hate Lorcan  would be “YAAS YOU GO ROWAN SAVE HER HOWEVER YOU CAN”. People choose which characters have a right to do whatever the fuck they want and nothing will be held against them and which characters can’t even look someone in the wrong way and they become villains practically.

Can you imagine elorcan being endgame ? Because no matter how much I ship them and want them to be together, I just think it's kind of unlikely... More so, do you even think they would 'work' as a couple past the events of the book ?

Yeah, I think they would work as a couple, and are endgame. Even if they die. They’ll be together. (AS WILL GAVIN AND ELENA FIGHT ME THAT MAN IS COMING TO GET HIS QUEEN, OKAY?!) I think that they just need to talk/figure out where the other’s motivations were when they “broke up” (for lack of a better word). 

Lorcan was manipulated into thinking he loved Maeve. He’d never been shown love, or honestly felt love for anyone until Elide (or it’s been so long he can’t remember). And for years, Aelin was the “light” at the end of Elide’s tunnel. Knowing Aelin might be out there is what kept Elide alive and fighting for survival. She literally has NOTHING else going for her (or that’s how she thinks about it anyway). So when Lorcan betrayed Aelin/Elide’s queen to her there was no greater offense. How dare he. 

But Lorcan didn’t know that. He only understands his blood oath to Maeve, and can’t see that his loyalty to her is really quite similar to Elide’s loyalty to Aelin. Same as she can’t see this in reverse.

And neither of them understands love the way they should. Elide has at least experienced love and friendship (thanks to the Thirteen and Manon and Abraxos), Lorcan only has this twisted blood oath and warped magical manipulation. But he can see love. And that’s why he hates Aelin so much. Because he sees how much Rowan and Aelin love one another and it pissed him off that Rowan left their two-person-pity-party for Aelin. He’s jealous. And angry. And he’s lived a life that has only allowed him to follow orders. So that’s what he does.

HONESTLY. And not to get shitty. Aelin fucking knew he called Maeve. PLOT HOLE: They all did. Or should have. If they can detect Lorcan’s warning “wave/beacon” magic, then Rowan, Fenrys, and Gavriel should have been able to distinguish his “destress call/Maeve come get me” beacon. 

And THAT’s why I think Maeve is going to lead Aelin to the last key, or divulge significant information to Aelin that she needs to seal the keys and not die. (cough*the ruby in Goldryn is a powered up witch-mirror that will help them seal the keys*cough) Because the gods have interfered enough times that they should have sped up Gavin’s ships to get there in time, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY Aelin and/or Manon told us that they felt as if they’d been put on the beach on purpose. As if they were being led there for a reason. And guess who’s on the beach? Maeve. The gods are manipulating that bitch I think. I think they needed Aelin to go with her to get some vital info/the last key. Because their plans are too great, and they’ve spent too long scheming to not have seen Maeve coming or known she would be a problem. Sorry. Not buying it.

The moment I became obsessed with Elorcan:

“Elide (…) found herself not afraid of anything as he did it again, kissing one corner of her mouth, then the other. Such gentle, patient kisses- his hands equally so as they stroked the hair back from her brow, as they trailed over her hips, her ribs.” 

Why? Why THIS exact moment? If this was a description of Chaol or Dorian or even Rowan, I would probably not freak at all. But we are talking about LORCAN SALVATERRE, the dude that’s been in love with a crazy bitch for centuries, the dude that’s been described as cold and ruthless and always getting what he wants. From these descriptions alone, I would have guessed Lorcan to be really really forward when it comes to sex (which he is), but also a little impatient- someone who just goes for it without really considering his partner’s wants and needs. 

Lorcan is described as having “unending cold rage”, caring only for himself and maybe Maeve. Why should he be a considerate, attentive guy in bed????? Wouldn’t fit the character he’s being described as. Logically, you wouldn’t put Lorcan into the cute/fluffy/ perfect fae boyfriend box.

But. BUT. When he’s getting it on with Elide, he’s described as gentle and patient. He’s not pulling her clothes off after a few seconds, he’s not violently kissing her or being urgent in any way. He doesn’t even seem to restrain himself. He’s just…enjoying that they are taking it slow for now. 

AND THATS WHAT MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE TO ME!!!!! Because Lorcan is NOT a gentle and patient person- look at his feud with Aelin, Rowan, the Carde, basically the whole world. He manages to pick a fight with everyone after a few seconds. But with Elide, he forgets all of that- he’s knows how precious Elide is and that he can’t pull any of that bullshit with her. I bet if she told him that she wanted to wait 5 years before sleeping with him, he wouldn’t even BLINK and just accept that. 

And I also bet Lorcan would NOT do that for everyone. He’s not considerate like  Dorian, or trying to do the right thing like Chaol. I bet Lorcan has pissed a lot of his lovers off. I bet he’s grown annoyed and impatient with a lot of them, and I bet all those years of pining after Maeve also made him really cold hearted and bitter. I bet there have been more than a few times where he didn’t care about how things felt for his partner. 

But with Elide, he is suddenly gentle. He is patient. That centuries- old demi-fae, who has slaughtered and schemed and betrayed, who had probably slept with hundreds of women and who is described as muscular and hulking and honestly a little scary- that man transforms into someone else entirely. 

That quote just made that so obvious to me. And that, my friends, was the moment I became utter, desperate Elorcan TRASH.
