Ten Year Old Fan "Could Have Written This Episode Better."

After reading the latest episode of acclaimed Webtoon Nevermore, ten year old fan Olivia Smith announced on social media that she "could have written this episode better."

"Another Monty flashback?" she rhetorically asked her followers in a TikTok live. "This season keeps getting worse. I only started this Webtoon because I wanted to see the girls kiss. And it's totally out of character for Monty to pretend to be religious! It's like RnF don't even know the characters anymore," she added, using the common fan name for writer Kit Trace and artist Kate Flynn.

After a viewer asked how she would improve upon the current episode, Smith straightened slightly and elaborated on her plan. "First, I'd kill off both Monty and Will, of course. Then I'd kill off all the other side characters who take too much screentime. And then after that I think I'd bring the focus to Lenore, and she'd be looking for Annabel. She'd find her about halfway through the episode, and they'd kiss in front of all the remaining background students, too scared of death to worry about hiding anymore. The Wild Hunt would see them kiss and be overwhelmed by the power of true love and would leave the school, dragging the Deans away with them. And then Lenore and Annabel would kiss again."

"After all," Smith noted with a roll of her eyes. "How am I supposed to know they love each other if they don't ever kiss?"

While her initial plan seemed cut and dry, a second viewer (identified as fourteen year old Ava Garcia-Ramirez) quickly asked Smith if she knew that "Lennabel" was a toxic relationship, meaning it shouldn't be glorified in media and that having the two of them kiss would be actively harmful to minors and minor-coded adults.

Smith was preparing her rebuttal when her parents opened her bedroom door and informed her it was past her bedtime, ending the livestream and preventing reporters from procuring any further details about the unfolding story.

As someone whose in the server, its a much nicer place to be now. They expanded the mod team, n R&F stepped down. The mods are slowly finding their feet after revamping the server for ease of navigation. They aren't hiding anything, they are going through a baptism of fire trying to find their groove.

More people join the server everyday. The artists who were being bullied and made feel like they couldn't post are regaining their confidence.

The mis-info the howlermonkeys who aren't in the server are spreading is laughable. They've had to resort to creating targeted tumblrs n tags to spread toxicity in the NM tag cause they got nothing better to do. And they've taken to bullying other NM fans on tumblr to such a degree that they're forced to turn off replies to their posts, or delete them completely. Pure fandom wank behaviour.

first, a bunch of the people talking are either not banned or left of their own accord, just for clarity as i can tell you’re trying to lump all of us together into one hateful entity you can banish from the tumblr tag (koff, modding outside of the server) (whatever happened to us being allowed to, what was the wording red used again? oh right, decide together how we want our space to be)

next, do “bullies and generally nasty pieces of work” put in hours an hours complimenting every piece of fanwork posted in the discord server? so much that you, you yourself have had to replace them to hide their absence, by suddenly beginning to routinely and in similar format paragraphs compliment fanwork after a bistander pointed out the absence? (screenshots included) is it a common bullying method to be so beloved by the server that multiple people have brought up their absence? if this user was bullying people, wouldn’t it be easy to respond to their dms asking why they were banned with screenshot evidence? wouldn’t it be the simplest thing in the world not to ignore their many REAL, GENUINE questions about why they were banned from a community they loved?? if there was evidence of them breaking multiple rules, why hasn’t it been presented? unless, and this couldn’t possibly be the truth since you keep saying it’s not and you, the mod team, are always completely correct and forthcoming of course, there actually wasn’t a genuine reason for this user to be banned? 🤔🤔

but im so ashamed of the nevermore fandom rn tbh because its like. ok did we all just decide bullying is ok

someone had to delete a post being neutral because people read it like supporting rnf and actually bullied that person into closing the post. and then said they didnt bully but yeah you did. you did this and there are posts still up that are proving it. some got taken down which is good because maybe that means your rethinking but i bet scressnots exist somewhere.

that was seeking to harm or intimiate. and its with red too like red apologized. maybe the apology was too long but it was very clearly an apology and says that crimsin isn't on the server anymore. so as long as thats the truth im cool.

its all cool to disagree but whats the obsession with making a big deal out of it cant you just leave the fandom quietly talk about it to your friends and not try to actually hurt people. and yeah red counts as a person and so do the nice people on the post you decided had to be taken off tumblr.

Hello!

I am assuming you are referring to the conversation I had yesterday. There was no harm intended behind my words, I was simply curious about their logic as I personally found it hypocritical that they expect everyone to be held accountable for their actions, but not RnF? Just because they are popular creators or adults doesn’t mean that they are incapable of being wrong.

I can completely understand that some of you are tired of seeing all this in the tags when all you want to do is enjoy a comic, but unfortunately people on social media won’t shut up about something because you find it annoying. ESPECIALLY, when it’s something as serious as this. This isn’t drama, there were minors involved and I’m sure they have it way worse than any of us. Some people will not stand for this, and it’s their right to speak up about the situation, the same way you have the right to enjoy the comic. If you don’t want to see the posts , simply scroll past them and don’t read them or maybe even block them.

They deleted my comment where I stated that no one is saying they can’t read nevermore, and we aren’t calling rnf monsters, but we were expecting them to own up to their mistakes. And what red posted wasn’t at all an apology, and is more of an excuse as the post was about old side server drama rather than what had actually unfolded. You got the terms confused, bullying is what red did in their “apology”. Naming multiple people, giving out their usernames, some of them being victims of crimson (and minors), knowing that people in their fandom could harass these minors but “they can’t control their fans!”. So don’t hand out people’s usernames? Also, ignoring and deleting the comments of said named people asking RnF to remove their names from the post because they are rightfully scared of harassment.

I can understand that I may come off as rude, and for that I apologize. I pointed out how they also said they didn’t want to get involved in the nevermore drama….but then got involved in the nevermore drama.

By the way! Even if red did apologize, the apology isn’t yours or mine to accept, but it’s the victims of crimsons. We aren’t trying to harm anyone or tarnish RnFs reputation, they did that entirely themselves when they decided to let crimson back into the server, mute (and later ban) the victims who came out when everything unfolded, and publicly apologized to crimson instead of apologizing to the victims of crimson who they victim blamed. The youngest victim was 12 btw.

TLDR: if you don’t wanna see the nevermore “drama”, then simply block the blogs you don’t want to see.

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.
