      It was a new exhibition and Morgana had done everything to make sure that things were going perfectly. She had invited the regulars and even some new people she had picked up upon. The art was relatively modern, it would fit best in any kind of big office there was, like lawyers or CEO´s and so the crowd today wouldn´t be her favorite. 

      Morgana had studied art herself so people who didn´t really appreciate it, but only hung it up so their walls wouldn´t be empty, weren´t her favorite crowd of people. Still, she was doing what was best for business (something, probably the only thing she had learned from her father) and there would be better days to come.

     She picked up a glass of champagne from a passing waiter and smile at a few people as she walked around, stopping next to one of the highest priced paintings of the exhibition. She glanced over at the man standing next to her, high class suit, tie perfectly adjusted and not a single hair out of place.

          “Are you interested?”

Despite his constant repetition of how little he liked the idea, James’ boss had insisted he go to an art exhibition with a few of his co workers. And, always eager top rise above his station, he’d eventually buckled in and agreed to go.

  The company had, of late, had a reputation for being rather cold and corporate (probably because they were a corporation, as James often wished he could remind people), so having a few fairly high up employees visit local art shows would give them more of a human presence, make them seem less icy.  It was never explicitly stated that they would be expected to buy items on behalf of the company, but it had been implied heavily enough that James knew it would be appreciated. And the more money spent on a piece, the better reputation the company could have- so James was determined to outbid his co workers.

Hearing the question from a voice on his right, James turned to see a tall and elegant woman waiting for his reply. Unsure of who it was, he tried to think of an answer that made him seem invested in the art, to which he hadn’t actually paid much attention.

“Oh yes, yes. I love the colours in this, the painting has this atmosphere of being... really... you know, a t m o s p h e r i c. ”

Lorelei collected the money and poured a healthy measure of their cheapest rum, into a glass, pushing it towards the disheveled man.

“Here,” she said before returning to wiping down the bar.

After taking a few uncoordinated gulps of the unpleasant tasting drink, James’ eyes wandered back to the young girl.

“Are you new here? I’m pretty frequent, and I’ve not seen you before.”
