Don't chase the rabbit

Lorelei was small, still too young to be separated from her sisters for very long. Her eldest sister was combing out the merchild’s wild raven locks as the others sang her songs and created shimmering bubbles to entertain her.

Giggling, the merchild reached out to catch one of the glimmering orbs, and squealed when it popped. Her sister’s laughed with her, and her eldest sister finished combing Lorelei’s hair placing a starfish in her hair for good measure.
