I am back down to 95.2 which is very close to where I was (94.8) last December so I am going to start from here and keep going. I had my oral surgery.
We did a skin graft from the top of my mouth to my gums because I had a muscle that was pulling them down causing decrease there. The top of my mouth seems to be healing well and I will know about the front on Monday when the Periodontist takes the plaster out. My Mom said she noticed that I was speaking better. Iāve always had pronunciation issues, partly because of my teeth, partly because I lived in Europe and picked up some of the language variations there. If I decided to speak in my British accent it may go away but in my American accent - not so much. I tend to speak as I hear. My family didnāt pick this up and sometimes people think Iām mocking them. Iām not, I just pick up that way. Iāve been on soft food diet and Iām okay with what Iāve been having although itās not the best for my stomach. Having some upset sometimes and when I have pancakes, the scale doesnāt seem to move. Iāve been having a lot of applesauce, some jello, pancakes (I need to switch to the GF instead of ordering in) and pot pies. I think if I reduce my gluten intake to just the pot pie at lunch I should do a bit better. Working with my nutritionist has been one of the best things Iāve ever done. I tried some nutritionists when I was younger and they were terrible and boring. It was about the food and not the behavior. Now we work on both. Even when Iām on soft food diet she helps me stay on course. I am down 25 lbs from when we started last October.
I am loving the fact that my nails are growing again but I have to get used to the idea that I will have to go to a salon to help me with my pinkies. The nails curve a bit and it hurts. I wonder if I see my foot Dr if he can help me the way he did before. There is a chemical you can use to help the nails grow properly. Since I rarely have nails, I have no idea how to shape them to decrease the pain from the ingrown. Iām not sure how to ask for help with the curve in my pinkies without being harassed that my nails are really short. I mean, thatās where nails start isnāt it? So let me alone. <- Social anxiety at itās finest. Any ideas? Something specific to ask for? Ingrown nails are really painful!
I made my first cowl - which is too big length wise so Iāll say itās a short scarf vs a cowl. I need to block it which Iāve been procrastinating learning the process for 2 years, this will be unavoidable. Iām now making a baby scarf which is adorable. I was gifted a baby knitting book and I am looking forward to doing the patterns inside of it. I joined a knitting guild that comes together weekly - either on Zoom or Social Distance knitting outside. Itās been a good outlet. Iām not a fan of the āYouTubeā outlook - oh just go to YouTube and youāll learn. No. It is a resource. Not a one size fits all learning technique. I learn hands-on and thatās something we havenāt been able to have for almost 2 years. Iāve been knitting that long, a bit longer.
I will be picking up my bow today when we go to drop off packages this PM. I am very excited since next week (October 10th-16th) I will be with the ladies group. I have to finish my sign up so I can get my pieces. I am having lag on name specifics right now but I think as I get into the sport more, I will get better with that. I am hoping that my mouth will be healed enough and Doctor will clear me for classes! Because you have to rest your hand under your jaw, I need to be medically cleared to shoot.
I am working with a beautiful baby girl! She is 3.5 months and we are getting along wonderfully. Officially sleep training. Itās an addiction the baby snuggles! But itās time to let her sleep in the crib as much as possible. So that will be all-consuming on duty but also fun! I love that I can relax while I am at work. I love and miss my Squirrels but time moves forward and so must I. š„°
Iāve started digital bullet journaling with Zinnia. Iām liking the template spreads and starting to make them into what works for me. I would like to add some more on the creative side but that is all extra. I am enjoying my pen as well - just a basic one; nothing fancy.
