i think people will need to hear this, so little psa - you can also reblog this, if you wish!
i’m seeing a whole lot of negativity going on my dashboard lately: people treating others badly or treating themselves badly, people nervous, people sad, people tired. and i want to tell you, it’s perfectly normal to feel like this. probably not many realized this, but in these times, we’re living the same levels of stress that we’d live it there was a war out there, and not a virus. we’re living in the same situation of stress, and uncertainty for the future, and it is difficult. the world is different. even here in italy, where phase 2 has begun and quarantine is basically over, i can still feel the stress and difficulty of these times, because we’ll have to act differently until the situation is over, exactly like in war.
i miss my friends, too. i miss my girlfriend. i miss meeting up with them. i miss human contact, heck, i even miss taking the bus, which is something that often caused me anxiety!
what i’m trying to say here, is that it’s normal to feel weirdly, badly, sad, and all that jazz, because we’re living the same stress that people during world war would feel - and exactly for that, please, treat yourself more kindly. don’t call yourself a stupid if you can’t do something for one or more days, don’t feel bad if sometimes it’s hard to get up and work. sometimes i have problems even standing up from my bed, but it’s okay. we fight everyday against a world filled with bad things, but also good things, and lately the fight has become harder. it’s one of those times when the world changes, uncaring if you want it or not, and standing up can be difficult - but i assure you. you will do this.
be kinder to yourself. be more forgiving of yourself, because lately you need it.
if you receive bad messages or straight up hate, delete it and ignore it. you and your mental health come before those messages.
if you can’t write despite you said that you would have done it, don’t pressure yourself. do something else, listen to some music, watch tv series… in a world, relax.
discover new things. play videogames. be kind. to yourself and others.
people tend to forget to be kind to ourselves, but now more than ever, we all need to be kinder, to others, and to ourselves.
