“no, we’re not... i said something dumb while i was mad. she’s sleeping with cullen and he scares me shitless,” she pouted a bit, then let out a playful giggle and pecked jasper’s lips once. “he’s reckless and he’ll probably hurt her, so can you keep an eye on him? and maybe me. i need to be taken care of too,” she slid out of jasper’s arms and onto his bed, curling into one of the blankets. “i don’t think i like japan. too much happens here. i want to go home.”

“there is no difference, lottie. maybe i’m cool with him and still hooking up with him. that’s the thing, i’m not going to get mad at you for talking, or being friends, with locke or eben. i know you an eben have been friends longer than us i would never do that to you. you shouldn’t have done it to me, that’s all i really have to say about this topic.” tasia was so upset, she didn’t want to even look at the female before her. she had been nothing but kind, and thoughtful, or her friendships with her ex’s, and this was how she was repaid. “i have to deal with both of them here, lottie. i’m sorry that i wanted a distraction and that cullen was that for me. but i don’t deserve to be judged by someone i consider my best friend.” tasia sighed, letting a frown form on her lips at lottie’s fear. “i have no doubt that cullen could be violent, but i would never let him touch you. i think he has enough common sense to not hit a girl.” tasia licked at her lips, letting her arms fold across her chest, avoiding eye contact with lottie. “look, you’re already packing your things, so you might as well go. i don’t forgive you for this and i don’t know if i ever will.”

you might as well go. lottie tried to not look too surprised, but she felt like she’d been hit in the stomach. it was her own fault. though she had to wonder -- why were other people allowed to get angry, but she wasn’t? she didn’t speak. she simply knelt down and continued packing her things into her suitcase. what was there for her to say? lottie had apologized, explained herself, and tasia was hurt. it made sense, and lottie hated herself for it. she tossed her backpack over one of her shoulders and grabbed her blanket before looking over at tasia finally. “i’m not concerned about him hurting me. i’m concerned about him hurting you,” she replied. now came the fun part -- who was she supposed to stay with? “i’m sorry. have a good rest of your trip,” and with that, the brunette was out the door.

she pressed her index finger to her lips in an attempt to silence herself. “i won’t be sick. i’m fine, promise,” lottie stated. as the male crawled towards her, she wrinkled her nose and reached up to wrap her arms around him. “i feel okay. i mean, i got into it with tasia because i’m stupid, but i’ll be okay as long as i can stay here,” she rested her head on jasper’s chest, listening to the beat of his heart.

tasia couldn’t believe, out of everything this is what lottie chose to angry over. she couldn’t help but feel incredibly hurt and offended that she was freaking out about this and throwing things in her face left and right. “alright, so?? you can hate whoever you want, and i can fuck whoever i want, lottie.” she didn’t want to be cruel towards lottie her best friend, but with the way she was acting, she deserved to defend herself. “do you even understand how hypocritical you’re being?? locke he completely fucked me over and used me by fucking peven behind my back, even when we were together and way before. you’re still cool with him, right?? eben fucking crushed me i was devastated about what he said to me and what he did. yet, you’re still just fine with him. don’t talk to me about how cullen treats you like shit and i’m still decent with him, when i have two examples of you doing the same exact shit.”

"being cool with someone and hooking up with them are two totally different things. if you didn’t want me to talk to locke and eben then you should’ve said something,” lottie ran her hands through her hair, frustrated and unable to think of anything to say back. she wasn’t trying to hurt tasia. that was her last intention, but now that she had pointed out the things she did, she wanted to stop them. “okay, you’re right. i’m sorry. he just -- he reminds me so much of him. he told me to leave or else things would get bad, and i think he was... i think he’s capable of being violent, and i don’t want you to get hurt,” her bottom lip curled up into a pout. “i’m sorry, okay? i’m sorry. i just hate him so much and when you told me i kind of.. well, i lost it, and you have all the dignity in the world. don’t listen to me when i get angry.”

“oh, you took him home?” charlie repeated, not surprised but a little jealous actually that even after he was the one who’d been hurt, it was still jasper who had someone there for him. he brought it on himself by not asking for help, but it didn’t hurt any less. “i guess i just wanted to talk to someone who understands what it’s like to be with him. i doubt he’s ever turned on you like he did on me though,” he muttered. it could definitely come off salty, but it wasn’t really in his nature and if anything, charlie was just sad. “you seem like you’d be good at advice. where do i go from here?”

“yeah. i wasn’t going to let him get behind the wheel and die,” she shrugged her shoulders up and down. as charlie spoke, lottie found herself getting emotional. she hadn’t cried in front of anybody here, but sitting across from charlie and talking about jasper brought it all out. “charlie, this is hard for me... you have to understand that right now, i’m telling you what to do to fix this when all i want is to lay down next to him and wake up next to him. i love him, despite all of his flaws, despite the fact that he cares for you... and i am telling you to go back for him. i’m telling you that if you let him slip away, you’ll regret it. you’ll be me. apologize. tell him how you feel, and don’t hold back, because he needs someone like that. try to hold his hand in public, or to just show him some affection. don’t pretend like you don’t care about him when others are around... but most importantly, be proud of him. he is fighting a battle. we all are. just -- i’ll let go if you two want to be something.” she wiped at her face with the back of her index finger and gave a quiet sniffle.
