A life filled not only

With joy and laughter,

But also tears and pain—

One I do not mind

Sharing with you.

I sometimes think of

The lives that could have—

Our little bundle of joy,

Three girls and a boy,

Running through our home,

Chasing each other,

Filling the house

With their laughter,

Without a care in the world.

I think of them

And I see the best parts of

You and me.

Apples of our eyes,

The ones we hold dear

To our hearts.

I would go through it

All over again

If it's with you

And our precious little ones—

Despite the pain,

Despite the grief,

Despite the hell of it all.

In the window of the café,

Even in the midst of night.

Is the easiest thing

For my heart to do.

Perhaps easier than it is

To breathe in the morning air.

So drawn to you

And the way you love me

That every second away from you

Feels like a quiet suffering;

Though it is one that I'm willing

To go through

If it means meeting your eyes

Once again.

I dream of doing

The mundane things with you.

Dancing in the kitchen,

Looking at the starry night,

Watching as your chest rises and falls

As you sleep next to me.

So calm,

So peaceful,

So precious.

And to have tiny versions of us

Running into our arms

When they fall and hurt themselves,

Seeking the same comfort

In the love that we give them.

And to give them the love

That I have always given you.

Oh, how I wish I would live long enough

I can't guarantee you that the days ahead won't be difficult, nor can I guarantee you that there won't come a time when either or both of us will find the thought of simply being together to be painful.

But I can guarantee you that the clouds won't always stay and that the sun will come and shine after the rain. I can also guarantee you that I will always be here, loving you, choosing you, and being next to you each passing day.

I know with complete certainty that I would regret it for the rest of my life if I never asked you to be mine, because I know it's you who I want to wake up next to every morning. It's you who I want to do the mundane things with, be it doing the laundry, shopping for groceries, sitting outside, watching the sun set as you lay your head on my shoulder.

Ultimately, I want to start a family with you. I'd very much like to have a little girl of our own, someone who carries parts of you and parts of me. Whenever it's just the two of us, I would look into her eyes and see you staring back at me. Hearing your voice in her laughter, seeing your smile when she giggles, giving her the same love that I've always given you.

But if it's not yet time for that, then I am all right with it. It just means that I get to spend more time with you, loving and cherishing you to the fullest.

For the good and the bad,

For the chaos and the quiet,

For the smiles and tears,

For when your words fail you,

And for when you're so happy

That you can't help jumping around

And hugging me tightly.

I want to be with you

Through all of it.

I want to hold your hand

When it trembles.

I want to soothe your heart

When the world weighs heavy.

I want to be your calm and quiet

When everything is just too loud.

Even after all this time,

I still want you.

I still choose you.

I still love you.

No matter what the world throws at us.

I still want to start

The rest of my life with you.

To sit next to you,

Watching the sunrises and the sunsets,

Brewing cups of coffee for you

Because I know how much you love coffee.

Lying next to you while you sleep,

Watching how you let go of the world

And finally be peaceful.

And watching mini versions of us,

Running around our home,

Overspilling with joy and laughter

From the love that we give them.

And despite all this,

If it's still not enough,

I will still be here,

Loving you,

Choosing you,

Waiting for you,

No matter how long it takes

For you to be certain
