gathered on wings by Brooklyn_Babylon / @twopoppies (E, 33K)
As Harry lay by Louis’ side, covered in sweat and come, he knew he should feel ugly, messy, ruined, like the life he’d left behind. But something about the way Louis looked at him, the way his eyes stared at him with want and awe, made Harry wonder if he’d ever feel this beautiful again.
Harry rolled his eyes at himself for his momentary romantic dreaminess. As good as this was, he knew it was nothing more than sex. He literally couldn’t afford to fall for just anyone, no matter how fit they were.
—–
What Harry Styles wanted was to be taken seriously as an artist. What he needed was a new sugar daddy to pave the way. Louis Tomlinson is an artist who isn’t what Harry is looking for. Somehow he still manages to turn Harry’s world upside down
Now COMPLETE
You get a lot of who you are as a musician across through the music you write. If you’re writing your own music, then it’s important to be really honest.
I have so many photos to post, but first, here’s Louis blowing kisses.
8.5.15
This is a section in the book Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales.
ok i don’t think we talk about the wheellarrow enough. Like they glide along the floor so fast i
So Speedy
And then if you didn’t catch it before Louis actually turns his head and smiles pretty big
Look at this!
Anyway severely unappreciated. Bless James Corden our Savior
george shelley talking about how he spent 4 years pretending to be someone he’s not and how he hid his sexuality as union j were just a product for young teenage girls. in this same documentary he talks about how he had a big perm because his team was trying to make him look like harry

After being injured in a hiking accident, musician Harry and his bodyguard are stuck on the trail with no cell service, no supplies, and with nightfall coming. Louis, who’s a wilderness first responder, comes across them, gives first aid, and calls for a rescue.
Once the rescue’s over and Harry’s family is there to care for him, Louis doesn’t figure he’ll ever see Harry again, but he does— at the talk shows he and Harry appear on so they can talk about their experience, at the concert Harry invites him to, through all texts and DMs. It’s amazing how well they get along and how much Louis likes him. Could someone like Harry ever return his feelings?

also, he repeats 'golden' 28 times during the bridge in golden see background vocals
alright lads I’m about to watch this video frame-by-frame and point out things we may have missed so BUCKLE THE FUCK UP
ONLY 3 SECONDS IN AND: “possible dubious practices” regarding British horseracing, ,along with “there is a creed of omerta which prevents anyone from speaking out”
omerta: (as practiced by the Mafia) a code of silence about criminal activity and a refusal to give evidence to authorities.
bonus: the article is an “exclusive reveal”
LAPD reference at 0:12
0:13 reference to the infamous feud between John Gilbert, silent film actor, and Louis B Mayer. Mayer “despised” Gilbert and they frequently clashed over “creative, social and financial matters” Also, “Mayer was a business man and Gilbert their biggest asset”. It’s also rumored that Mayer altered Gilbert’s voice to “gelded to a higher pitch to ruin [his career]”. It’s widely believed that Mayer sabotaged Gilbert’s career.
0:15 - article titled “It’s All About Location” in Spanish. Also appears to feature a painter by the name of (Jorge?) Pizarro, though I could only find reference to the famous conquistador by the name of Francisco Pizarro.
0:23 More about discrimination toward women in film and Potter, who “wears her outsider status with pride.”
0:28 features two write-ups of prominent texts from the American Revolution - Common Sense by Thomas Paine and Democracy in America by Alexis De Tocqueville. Fitting that revolution should feature so strongly at 28, no? :-)
0:31 NOT TO PANIC ABOUT LT1 TOUR BUT. SELECTED DEPARTURES FROM JANUARY TO NOVEMBER 2018.
0:32 he’s gonna make me solve this whole fucking crossword puzzle, isn’t he…..
0:37
[flashes back to THIS iconic tweet]
fun find at 1:12 featuring the green eyes…. “every [obscured] a relevance to”
edited to add: peep the little chess game in the corner, too.
1:22 a news story about Daryll Rowe, but part of the headline is scribbled out.
1:32 “represent a generation of women [fighting?] to make a stand”
1:42: “It was as if I had spent my years jiggling the key into the wrong lock.” A quote from Ta-Nehisi Coates, author of We Were Eight Years In Power: An American Tragedy.
Coates for Time Magazine:
“Eight Years is about the work of black people, and the striving and strife they have lived through in America, and is based on eight columns that Coates wrote for the Atlantic, one to represent each year of Barack Obama’s presidency. “Obama was the realization of generations, a black ambition as old as this country.” But what was the price? Coates wonders.
1:47: article about Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein on Broadway, starring Gene wilder and Hadley Fraser. The show opened in September of 2017.
1:49 write-up of Pagliacci, a famous opera in which the lead character reminds the audience that “actors have feelings too, and that the show is about real people.” The show devolves into “real life” at the end, and the actors are meant to perform as though they are no longer acting.
2:07 Somebody clearly reads the Broadway news sites because this write-up announcing Kelli O’Hara’s London Palladium run in The King and I was published only 5 days ago. Also featured is J.T. Rogers who won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Play, awarded to his play Oslo. Oslo recounts the Oslo Peace Accords between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization.
2:19 Hi, Cillian!
2:35 - A particularly scathing review of several actors’ performances in a theatre production, alongside an ad for “Free Professional Guidance”….
2:55 - A poem that I could find no discernible source to. Wonder who wrote it.
3:16 - A CAF Charitycard that helps donors put away money to give to charity.
THAT’S IT I’M FINALLY DONE. WHAT AN EXHAUSTING SEVERAL HOURS. WHY DID I DO THIS.
guess what!! I’m not done!! 2:29 - “pap” in the plant = the paps are planted.
2:10 - GIANT “H” that we somehow missed, followed by…..
yes, that’s right. The H is in his right hand. Y’know, the same place his whole world goes?
2:38 - another gigantic H that is quickly covered up, but not before…
“I need H when I’m down.”
2:45: a split-second bullhorn, followed by…..
“same stress” in some very familiar font….. (reminds me of the 1D font.)
2:46: usually, “shit” is censored with the “i” starred out. Instead, the H is removed from the word. in the lefthand “shit”, “hi” is hashtagged out. For reasons.
2:47: a fun ‘mirrors’ reference, alongside “Ruby In The Dust”. This appears to be either an allusion to the Neil Young song “Cowgirl In The Sand”, featuring the lyrics below….
or perhaps more likely, the Ruby In The Dust Theatre Company based in London.
3:09 - the crossword is abruptly colored in. admittedly, this is a reach but my Harry Tomlinson heart is begging me to post it anyway because……
finally, for a split-second at 3:18, we see a word that looks a whole lot like “out”.
I REALLY THOUGHT I WAS DONE, LADS. I REALLY THOUGHT.
as I posted about earlier, @ann-fortunately found an 8-ball at 2:30. There’s also many 2′s - $2 dollar bills, 2′s instead of “to” in the actual lyrics… but the 8-ball itself is significant because of this:
Sinking this ball is the winning play in a variety of pool games! Since it can represent both good and bad luck, it is an appealing design to emphasize the idea of “chance.” [Sink it too early and you lose. Sink it at just the right time, and you win the whole game.]
Prepare yourselves, lads. We were trying to source these comics from 0:48 and 0:50:
and the lovely @thecompassleadingtheship miraculously located the exact comic strip they’re from!! What’s more, this comic has some particularly interesting subject matter. It’s from Yogi Bear. Yes. Yogi Bear. Just wait! It gets better! Here it is in full, followed by some panels of note.
Yes, I absolutely broke into a cold sweat upon reading the words “the bears”.
Ah yes, Boo Boo. Boo Boo the Bear. You could almost shorten that to Boo Bear, couldn’t you?
And here we have Yogi and Boo Boo cunningly escaping the Ranger’s tricks - because there’s no such thing as Pic-a-nic-itis! The panel on the right is the exact one in the video.
[flashes back to….]
And we have the first rule of the park… Don’t feed the bears! The Chief Ranger is making a fool out of himself, which I think the Bears (and I) quite enjoy. :-)
For the grand finale, we have the bears asserting the fact that if you pay attention, you’ll realize the bears aren’t just “dumb animals” like some people might think. They’re smarter than average. Much smarter.
And with that, C is going to go to sleep because my hands are shaking!
I REALLY THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO SLEEP. I REALLY THOUGHT.
As pointed out by the lovely @elkoanonloveslarry … Do the colors of their ties look familiar to anyone? :-)
HELLO, IT’S ME, BACK TO RUIN YOUR DASH WITH THIS HORRIFICALLY LONG POST.
So you may remember we were attempting to source the Beetle Bailey comic from 0:48, given that the Yogi Bear comic was so big.
I had been working on this for literal hours - scrolling through 70+ years of Beetle Bailey history in an attempt to find this one cropped panel with the dialogue removed. I’d been feeling discouraged because my theory about the dotwork seemed to be wrong, so I decided to go through the years to determine exactly when the dotwork changed. I was clicking completely random days, two per month, and had gone from 2017 all the way back to 2000 when I decided to click on July 13, 2000 and stumbled upon this:
YES, YES THAT IS THE EXACT STRIP I HAD SPENT ALMOST NINE HOURS TRYING TO SOURCE.
The panel is about 4(!) soldiers who get left out in the rain because they’re “no men” and stand up to the general, while the general and his “yes men” get to ride in a protected car. A pretty clear allusion to 1D, if you ask me.
What’s also important about this is the date, the day before articles started officially dropping about Babygate on July 14, 2015. I wondered if there was a significance to him featuring the day before versus the day of, but I haven’t found any compelling evidence toward that. I went through the calendar year of 2000 and looked at a bunch of significant Babygate days. Obviously, disclaimer for massive head-canons since this stuff was written 17 years ago, but I’ll include it anyway because I’m sure you’re interested to see:
First up, January 21 - F’s birthday featuring the comic strip above about angry words producing angry results and better mashed potatoes. This one definitely has me a little intrigued even though I’m sure it’s just a coincidence - remind anyone of anything?
Nothing significant for H’s birthday, so I moved back to prominent BG days. Check out what I found on May 12th:
May 12th 2015 is the day BrianaFacts is created on Twitter, before she’s even associated with Louis. The strip above shows somebody trying to cover up a mistake on a computer in a very….unintelligent manner, lmao.
Onto the next! On May 14, 2015, those photos of Briana and Louis are taken outside of a club. This comic appears for the 14th of May in 2000:
Interesting that it should be about a practical joke played on Lieutenant Sonny Fuzz, a character who’s known for “always trying to impress uninterested superiors, and ‘rub it in the noses’ of his subordinates” - followed by Beetle delivering a sick burn in the form of a monetary donation. Sound like a familiar story? :-)
Moving on to August 3rd, the day before the GMA confirmation.
Speaks for itself, I’d say.
Finally, to lighten everyone’s mood, a cute find from September 28 - AKA the Anniversary.
I wish I could write all this off as a coincidence, but take it from someone who spent hours researching this - there’s a truly overwhelming amount of Beetle Bailey content out there, and this particular year took ages to find. The date of the comic used is important, and the coincidental easter eggs are certainly interesting. Literally any other year out of almost 70 could’ve been picked, yet this one (and this day, July 13th) was the one featured.
After all, SBB and RBB don’t really deal with “coincidences”, do they? :-)
[thanks to @iamalarrie for reminding me of the bears in an army jeep at OTRA Manchester!]
I’d like to say that’s all, but I’m sure we’ll discover more. This post is ridiculously long and for that I apologize, but I’m having a wonderful time researching the sheer amount of content packed into this video!! Hope you are, too :-)
aaaaaand there’s more!
This is dedication. Seeing this makes me so happy I could cry.
Title: Ghost Note Symphony Author: whoknows (AO3) | @crazyupsetter (Tumblr) Chapters: 3/3 (Complete) Rating: Explicit Word Count: 96k Summary: Louis is on tour when he first hears about it. It’s all over the news – Harry Styles Attacked By Fan runs in headlines for days. It’s not even just the gossip rags, either. Actual journalists are covering the story. It would have been impossible to avoid hearing about it. Technically, Oli is the one who tells Louis about it, but it’s not exactly being covered up. Harry doesn’t answer Louis’ text asking if he’s alright, but that’s not really surprising. They haven’t spoken for months, and it’s been a lot longer than that since they’ve had a real conversation. The sting of the text going unanswered is still there, less painful than it might have been a few years ago.
It’s not that it’s easy to forget about, exactly. Louis has a whole life outside of One Direction now, though. So Louis goes on with his life, figuring that if Harry was seriously hurt he would have heard about it by now. He might currently be in the same country as Harry, but being on opposite sides of it puts enough distance between them that putting it in the back of his mind is easy. There’s nothing Louis could do, even if he thought Harry might want him to.
That’s why everything that happens next comes as a complete shock to him.
