What if Beomseok is dead?
We obviously did not hear from him after the shit show he pulled in season 1 and we weren't expecting to either. But this thought occurred to me as I'm re-watching season 1.
His adopted father said loud and clear he'll send a hitman to kill him in the Philippines. One can say he is just in rage having to clean up Beomseok's mess, but I think not. Not only is he fully capable of killing his son who's basically a punching bag to him but he absolutely would kill him now that he holds literally no value to him. After all he couldn't bother to care for him when he was living with him, whatever makes one think he would bother giving him any care in a foreign country.
He definitely had Beomseok killed.
When Sieun is in his coma he encounters Beomseok, who asks Sieun who's more important to him, himself or his new friends. The whole thing was supposed to signify Sieun choosing his new friends and Suho over the guilt and memory of Beomseok and thus waking up and choosing to live in the present and letting go of the past.
To me it was a life and death decision.
What if Sieun, so unbearably tired, Sieun had chosen to stay with Beomsook? I know it would probably mean staying in the coma unable to let go of the past and move forward story wise.
But what if it signified him giving up and joining Beomseok in death?
Beomseok along with Suho have haunted the narrative the whole of season 2 and Suho was in a coma the whole time, aside from the last episode, which was basically a half alive and half dead state because of its severity.
Who's to say Beomseok is alive? Who's to say Beomseok put up a fight when he inevitably died? Who's to say guilt ridden Beomseok who regretted his choices was not hoping to be freed of that guilt?
We'd never know now, the world has moved on, Sieun has moved on and once Suho fully recovers he would also inevitably move on.
