The Ascension of Oliver Queen and Descension of John Diggle

Anon: At this point, I’m pretty much convinced that the real John Diggle died when Chase blew up Lian Yu and he was replaced by some alternate universe Diggle that is incapable of logical thought and not being a hypocrite.

I understand your frustration Nonnie. Like I said in my review, I would take it back further. I don’t think Diggle has been the same since he killed his brother Andy. This got me thinking. Perhaps we are watching opposite trajectories with Oliver and Diggle, but for a reason.

I’ve been touched by all support for this blog over the years. It’s grown beyond my wildest dreams and that’s thanks to all of you! As many of you know, I have an opportunity to turn blogging into a full time career. My hope is to expand the blog by bringing you many more reviews and perhaps even original creations. However, I need to supplement my income a little if possible.

I received a lot of feedback over the summer and I can’t thank everyone enough for being patient with me as I experimented. Your ideas were extremely helpful. I quit offering the skin care line and activated a Ko-fi account instead. It’s soooo much simpler.

As Diggle and Oliver fights go, and there have been a few doozies, “Brothers in Arms” takes the cake. Yeesh. It was BRUTAL. It ends with Diggle dumping Oliver, so I have a lot of questions about division of assets because this broromance qualifies for a common-law marriage.

Diggle’s behavior has been confusing and out of character the last few weeks, so I hoped Arrow would delve deeper into whatever is going on in that handsome head of his. Thankfully they did (while stealing lines right from Twitter). Diggle raises some interesting questions about what it means to be a hero and how we define ourselves in relation to others, but this all boils down to one question:

Why is everyone so mad at Oliver?

I have absolutely no idea.
