Here's an easy and cheap way to help the bees. 🐝💧

You can build a hydration station for your local bees with objects thrift it or purchased half price at craft stores. I used a Pyrex pie pan and blue glass pebbles because all of my googling suggested that bees are attracted to the color blue.

Rinse everything really well with running water, put the pebbles in your container and add enough water to almost fill the bowl. The goal is to have some of the pebbles remain above the waterline, so that any bees that fall in can get back out and dry off.

Total cost? $10.

Kindness is solarpunk!

Part of solarpunk is building up supportive communities. That sounds vague, but it starts with little things, like saying the nice thing about someone that’s on your mind, or checking in on someone you worry about. Atomized individualism is a result of capitalism, and it can be really isolating and hard on mental health. We aren’t meant to go it alone! Community starts with relationships, and relationships are built on all of your little words and actions towards someone and theirs to you, iterated over time. Build a kinder community with relationships founded on kindness.
