The most fascinating part to me about studyblr isn’t the unique stories and backgrounds each of you have, though that has always been important and amazing. It’s the futures each of you look forward to: the doctors, the translators, the writers, the teachers – and notice I don’t say “aspiring.” You all are here because you aspire, but when you combine that ambition with discipline, your work pays off. You aren’t just on a never-ending path of studying, you are on a path to a goal that opens up many more paths. In even so little as 5 years I could be talking to a medblr that is conducting their first surgeries, saving their first lives. In 10, the high school freshmen interested in social work could be keeping kids off of the streets or teaching their favorite subjects to kids just like them. And the greatest part is, because of the people that you are, it won’t just be a could, a what if. It is a will be. I am not only excited for the work you will do, I am excited for the person you are and will be. I am proud of you.

One of the greatest things about this community is hearing about people’s failures. Their frustrations. Their insecurities.
Yes, it’s celebrating the 4.0 grad who got a job in their field of study immediately upon graduation.
But it’s also celebrating and supporting (and commiserating with heaps of keyboard smashes, inbox yelling and cAPS IN TAGS) the student who didn’t get their dream job. Who is still looking for a job. Who didn’t get straight a’s but still graduated university.
The kid who pulled and all nighter and passed.
The kid who studied all year and failed.
The one who traded a master’s degree to pursue training. The medical grad who quits in their final year of residency to pursue something else.
Just, humans stories yknow?
Messy, fragmented, not so happily ever afters and all.
Still a bloody good story in any case.

How everyone will come support you no matter what. We cheer the student with a 4.0 GPA and a ton of extracurriculars, but also the student fighting to pass.

Forget pulling all-nighters and chugging coffee until it’s practically coursing through your veins. You know what gets me hyped up? Earl Grey tea on slow sunny mornings after a good night’s sleep. Submitting an assignment early, knowing you’ve completed it to the best of your ability. Reading for pleasure. That feeling of limbless relaxation after a good workout. Unearthing all your buried interests and falling in love with them over and over again.
