Lost // Touko & Nobunaga
Nobu was silent as she continued to speak, tilting her head slightly as she thought. “Hey, did you maybe hit your head when you got here?” she asked, just as easily as someone might ask what the forecast for the day was. “Never said anything about you being gross, you know?” Hmm.. well, maybe she could just chalk her overreactions up to just being scared? That was probably likely.
Turning her attention away, she began to survey the island while the other girl dealt with her sand problem. The sand was hot, but it was the nice sort of powdery soft sand that made for a really nice beach–though it also reflected the sun’s light a little too brightly. The water was also a pretty, clear shade of blue…and there was some sort of jungle a ways up the shore. There was probably plenty of stuff they could use in there, right? It’d be nice to get out of the sun for a while too..
“Oh? Water’s first? Yeah, I guess that’d make more sense,” Nobu nodded, turning to face her once more. Jeez, she was seriously missing her hat right about now. She scratched her cheek. “If it’s fresh water, there’s bound to be something in that jungle, right? If there’s animals here, there’s gotta be somewhere they’re getting water..” As soon as she said it, the thought made her pause. They had no way of knowing just what sort of wildlife they’d encounter on this island…though not that she was that worried. She was a member of Homra after all. Surely she could handle some wild animals?
She blinked as the other began to speak once more. “Well, yeah, I don’t watch those shows all that often,” she nodded in agreement. Though maybe the other girl thought she’d be able to insult Nobu, but the dark haired girl only laughed. “Yeah, that’s right. I’m definitely an idiot. But if nothing else, I’m pretty good for hard work, so I’ll do whatever we need.”
She grinned widely. “We’ll be working together, so might as well introduce ourselves, right? Just call me Nobu! My full name’s too dumb and stuffy. What’s yours?” she asked, and just like that she was already heading across the sand toward the lush jungle ahead of them.
“If I hit my head it’s because you did it while I was unconscious!!” Touko brought her hands up,stiffly wiggling them in her anger as she ground her teeth. “And you don’t need to say it! I can tell by the look in your eyes! Just because you’re a little bit pretty you think you can look down on me!? Don’t get so full of yourself! You’re still just a fool who ended up being betrayed by your partner in crime!”
If any of Touko’s complaints registered with the other lady they went unresponded, or in Touko’s personal opinion, ignored as the other busied herself with surveying their surroundings. It was good at the very least that even if the other had dumped her here they had a mutual goal of survival. In exchange for Touko’s knowledge the other, who addressed herself simply as Nobu, would carry out all the grunt work. That suited Touko just fine.
“.... Ha.” A thin yet wide smile spread across Touko’s face as Nobu presented her with her identity and made a comment about her name, which the girl focused on. “Bet it’s not as dumb as you.” Touko remarked this rather smugly, but it was for but a fleeting moment as she regained her usual withdrawn composure.
“W-Why should I tell you my name!? Shouldn’t you already know!? You kidnap someone and you don’t learn any details!? What kind of half-assed kidnapper are you! Is your partner the only one with brains between the two of you!?” Her insults and shouting were relentless, but even the energy in her voice was starting to die out thanks to the unrelenting heat that bore down on the two women.
“F-Forget about that... Water.. Find water..” Her voice had grown hoarse as she pleaded in a commanding tone for Nobu to do her part. Touko kept her distance from her but would follow closely behind the moment Nobu made any movement. She trusted the other about as far as she could throw her which, given her lack of physical strength, wasn’t very far at all.
