Kinda a #drawagain but not really. This is Zeke and he has gone through quite the transformation since I was 14. The basis for his character was a guy who thought that because brightly colored things in nature tend to be deadly, he should dress in bright colors in order to ward off other people. Uggggggggg whateven. The only thing that survived from the original design was his apathetic and sarcastic nature. (And I guess his hair) Let's not even start on the artwork. Not compleeeetely happy with this one, but whatevs. This is Issac Quinn Grey or just Quinn. He suffers from depression, an eating disorder, and anxiety brought on by the disorder. He's a character for a RP that was centered around an afterschool group therapy "club" thing. He was the only one out of the group who wanted to be there and had a genuine willingness to improve himself. He's a natural extrovert and loves being around people. He always seemed so confident in himself so It came as a shock to his parents when they found him passed out from malnutrition. When they took him to the hospital, they also found out he had been dealing with depression for years, but he didn't even know. What he had been feeling didn't match up with what he thought depression was so he ignored his symptoms. I really love this character, but unfortunately I had to leave the RP b/c half the cast was 3edgy5me and I couldn't take the unironic cringe. #oc #art #traditional #originalcharacter

I’m Sam, 19, and an American. An much like many Americans (regardless of skin color), my roots can be traced back to a number of countries and societies. Let’s see, there’s German, Swedish, Native American (I think Cherokee, but tribe maps suggest Shawnee), and Indian. These are just the ones I remember so I sure there’s more. I grew up very privileged. If I wanted something the biggest obstacle was reminding my mom so she wouldn’t forget. My home town is listed on the “top 100 best places to live” and I go to a private liberal arts college. That doesn’t mean I didn’t have issues or still do. I used to cut, I’ve had depression and anxiety since middle school, I have to deal with people not knowing that bisexuals are a thing, I’ve had people tell me I’m not bisexual if I’m dating a guy, and I get bouts of dysphoria that last anywhere between an hour to a week. Just because I’m white, doesn’t mean I’m free from problems.

I never claimed to be oppressed. I'm an american and there isn't any form of systematic oppression being forced on anyone living here. The only exclusion to that might be homosexuals and that is quickly being removed and fought. My problems are still very much real and are in no way tied to my skin color. I never claimed to be the best or demanded people to need me.

Just because being white could potentially be considered “the normal” in America and other predominantly white countries, doesn’t mean they should be bullied for being proud of who they are.  

Can you give me an example of people using this day to undermine blackout? I’ve personally only seen people posting in response to that post with all the different days for different people. Do you think the other days were created to undermine blackout as well?

Can I give an example? Look at the #whiteout tag and you’ll find plenty. Look at the posts of white people tagged #blackout where they undermine it and say racist crap. Look at the so called positive posts and see “white pride” and “white supremacy” and “quit bitching” and all this other bullshit that these people are saying under their breath.

No one said white people can’t be proud to be white, but white pride usually translates to racism and a bunch of other stuff. The reason? Because being white is thought as being better. White people at base are treated better. Two rich people? The white person. Two poor people? The white person. Two homosexual? The white person. Intersections are in there where one white person might get treated better than another and SOME poc get treated better than some whites but for the most part the white person wins out. — So why would you need to be proud to be white if no one is telling you to feel otherwise?

Every single day on just about every medium white people are thought to be at the top.

#Blackout came from black people being tired of that. We wanted one day where we could just reblog each other and compliment each other and feel important. One day! and it was organic, #whiteout and all the other “#__outs” were not organic. They came directly from blackout. Is there anything wrong with being inspired by #blackout? For white people yes, because society as a whole, tells white people that they are better, more attractive, SO WHY HONESTLY WOULD YOU NEED TO #WHITEOUT THE ENTIRE FUCKING TUMBLR DASHBOARD WHEN ITS ALREADY WHITE AS FUCK.

 But that’s not the same for poc, so if another group was inspired by #blackout that would be fine —as long as they didn’t try and piggyback off of it, all they would have to do is not call the shit “#___out” and wait a few goddamn months— forreal but literally all of these goddamn movements came directly after #blackout and it hasn’t even been an entire week. It’s been four fucking days, so anything happening right now is made to piggyback off of the popularity of #blackout and whether it purposely undermines #blackout or accidentally undermines #blackout it’s still undermining it (#whiteout definitely was on purpose you cannot sit here and tell me otherwise)

No one is CONSTANTLY telling white people that they aren’t good enough because they are white. No one is constantly reinforcing to white people that their lives don’t mean shit because they are white. WHITE PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE REAL PROBLEMS SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE WHITE. And if someone or a few people says any of that to a white person they look literally anywhere they want and have that refuted. Black people cannot. Asians cannot. Hispanics cannot. POC for the most part can’t just turn around click their heels twice and be reassured that they are important. 

If you’re white and you feel bad about yourself and you think a selfie will help? Post it, put your caption, call it a day but tagging it #whiteout is what makes it racist because #whiteout is a racist movement and will never be anything more than that.

However outside of tumblr, are you aware that other countries besides america exist? Yeah, sure, in a america white people are not being systematically oppressed, but neither is anyone else.
