Here’s the first part of their story.
Ink was out with Blue and Dream again. It was the perfect time for Error to strike.
“Pastel, can you go get more wood for the fire?”
Shade looked over at his only friend with his same emotionless face that he always had.
Shade can’t feel emotion, but he has before, and the memory of his emotions helps him realize when he needs to act like what, but he doesn’t do it that often. It was just him and Pastel, so he didn’t need to.
“Of course! I’ll be back in a bit!” Pastel answered with his normal upbeat voice.
Pastel is very energetic and innocent. He sees everything good about the world and Shade tries his hardest to protect him.
Shade stared into the fire as the sound of the water that was falling from the roof of the cavern filled his ears.
Error started wrapping his strings around Inks AU’s until one stuck out in particular. This AU, instead of glowing yellow like the rest, was glowing pink. It was also isolated, which was odd. He decided to investigate the AU. Something like this doesn’t just happen.
Pastel was gathering sticks, branches and anything he could find in the snow forest area that was west of their home. He had done this many times before but this time something was different. Pastel saw something was casting light onto the trees around him. He stepped out of the clearing to see what it was and was surprised to see that someone was there.
Error looked around this strange AU and started walking towards Snowdin, but just as he almost reached the gate, someone stepped out of the trees in front of him.
He looked like an Error. Meaning he is an Error...but he looks weak.
“Um...hi!” The strange Error said. “What’s your name? I’m Pastel!”
“...A-are yo-ou sup-p-p-pposed to be an Err-ror?”
The weird Error called Pastel flinched at Errors voice. “I don’t know what you mean...”
“Tch. Y-you’re path-theti-ic. It’s embarras-ssing to have an Error this we-eak. Y-you probably should-dn’t exist. We-ell, that’s a pro-oblem I can fix.”
Error held up his hand and shot multiple strings at Pastel. Once they hit, Pastel was nocked back and fell in the snow. He looked up, terrified, but Error didn’t care.
Error shot his strings again, but they were blocked by a shield of ink surrounding Pastel. Error stumbled back. The ink cleared and Pastel looked up to see Shade.
“Shade?” Pastel was confused and happy at the same time. He knew that Shade would come, but he didn’t know he was so scary.
Shade made many different shapes of different colors of ink appear and Error looked scared for a second, but quickly hid it.
Ah, it’s a swap universe, now he’s a good representation of my side. Although...if the short one really is so weak then I shouldn’t mess with this one. All Ink and Error alterations have equal power, so if the short one is really that weak, then this guy won’t hesitate to get rid of me...and he could do it in less than a second. I need them on my side.
