It's, like, totally tubular!!! ☆彡 ミ☆ ...like, toooo bitchin’ The 80s was without a doubt a decade with personality. Much like today's motto.. (No, not YOLO) "play hard, work hard" theme song of today if you will. however for good or bad, consumed Harder. 10 years that marked self awareness, self promoting, and just for the sake of the value of 3s; self indulging. Big hair Big pants aka parachute pants Big attitudes BIG SHOULDER PADS!! This is the decade that made us what we are today. It was this era that gave birth to political, technological, cultural, and social revolutions that took over the world without any signs of intimidation. An era in which the decisions, attitudes and inventions paved the way the modern world of today.

The 1960s was a decade of slogans. Students chanted “Stop the War.” Hippies” extended an invitation to “turn on, tune in, and drop out.” John F Kennedy urged Americans to explore a “New Frontier,” and Lyndon Johnson pledged to build a “Great Society.” Socialites like twiggy were on the scene.. Men's fashion was by definition elegance and class. And we can't forget the British Invasion. Truly a decade of change. A cultural boom.

Dreamers

Have you ever looked at a painting and for a second or two, you feel as if you're inside?

I know I'm not the only one...

I have a print of an unknown artist in my kitchen. Every time I see it I catch myself stuck for a moment dreaming I'm inside. For a tiny moment I feel such peace, I can hear the few imaginary people in the corner of this painting. the plates clinking from the kitchen, I can smell the fresh basil being cut for that delicious tomato sauce simmering in the background,  it truly transports me from my home in California to the old world streets of Sicily.  

Its my dream to one day live in Italy. Life there seems to stand still. The villas are so full of life and the idea of waking every morning, walking to the local farmers market to pick the fresh produce for the day and greeting the locals with smile, seem so tranquil. I guess you can say I'm a true day dreamer..  That day will come soon enough. There is a quote by a wise British soldier named Thomas Edward Lawrence:

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible. 

Make sure you're a true dreamer and make all that you can to make such dreams come true
