beat me up on artfight!
my art may be dithered when i post it to tumblr. It's partially stylistic choice, but since tumblr can and is easily scraped/indexed, I like to feed the machine (AI datasets) the lowest quality images as possible....
probably doesn't have to be said but we are anti AI here. no "ai assistance" is used ever. get that shit outta here!!
most of my art in Better Quality, or stuff that I only share previews of here, will be on my website. which is currently not online rn. but it's SO close
i don't care about some of the things i used to. which would be fine if i wasn't waiting for the day i was finally able to do them, and now that it's finally here couldn't care less
these are for, in order, @ohmysheetmetal @lowtideflowers starrtimevoid and @raystarkitty :3 tbh i genuinely cannot believe how hard i've cooked on Pinbot... also i did a lil artstyle experimenting on Goose :D i'm having so much fun with artfight gang :DD
when I was younger I would get furious at the insinuation that I was a part of my characters. because I enjoy writing people different than me and in situations I have always known I don't idealize it was like. of course they're nothing like me. get off your armchair psychologist high horse. to the point I'd even refuse projective writing, or even be confused why I resonated with the characters I did.
but now I realize, even hidden under many layers, my old work still included me. as an author, I was a character, too - the hidden eyes of the entire presentation and every intricate choice made in it. even if I was making choices to try to be "objectively good" or easily marketable to other people.
I think I like writing a lot more now that I realize my place in it. nothing is wholely representative of me or any desire I have. yet, when I find myself uninterested or lacking inspiration, I can use pieces of myself and my life. it's not only a tool for creating narratives, but it's also a major part in processing what's happened to me and how I experience the world. in an abstract way. and that's cool actually
