It Grieves Me Not / To Grieve You a poem for c!tubbo after the manberg festival 10.16.24 | by elle thatfriendlyanon

It grieves me not to grieve you, past portion of my soul, Whose eyes lit up like lightning bugs and heart was beating whole. You chased the bees through meadow-grass and watered all the flowers And broke your bones to fit their molds so they could wield the power. You laughed as loud as sunshine with your best friend by your side, You laughed so that the man with horns would never see you cry. You stowed away your secrets, stashed safely under smiles, And kept your feet between the lines of cowardice and guile. You put on suits too big for you and tried to fit each role, But every time the mirror grew a deeper, sharper hole. It took your spine and snapped it til you couldn’t stand up straight, As if the height you lost would keep your body from the grave. But did it save you, little bee? The hive’s been plundered still. The honey’s gone, your wings are crushed, they’ve come in for the kill. The world explodes––your best friend screams––there’s searing, rainbow pain. And then––the ceiling rights itself, and nothing is the same. Your best friend balls his fists for you. There’s blood––both his and yours. The man who promised you’d be safe laughs just beyond the door. You’re fought over like fish for sale, you’re left to slowly heal, ‘Til over time you’re strong enough to never have to kneel. It grieves me not to grieve you, O child with bitter end. Maybe now you’ll finally learn softness is no one’s friend.

Daily Schedule for the Exiled | a poem for c!tommy 8:00 AM Wake up. Shake the water from your hair, wring it from your shirt, climb out of the ocean that keeps dragging you back home. 8:15 AM Leave footprints on the sand. When the tide comes, swallows up your shadow, keep leaving footprints. The ocean is hungry. Keep giving it something to eat. 8:45 AM Give yourself something to eat. 8:50 AM Let it go cold. 9:00 AM Fill your time with anything that scrapes at the static in your mind–– ticking seconds off a compass needle, building bridges as bent as your best friend’s cursive, journal entries in a language you never learned. 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Wait for someone to visit. 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM Wait for someone to leave. 6:30 PM When the sun sets, the cold comes crawling over the backs of the mountains. The ghost of your brother stains your palms, streaks the colors of his old flag when he puts his hands in yours. Stop shying away. Take the blue––hold it til it drips through your fingers, hold it like his heart. 7:00 PM Don’t worry, he’ll leave too. 8:00 PM Lie down for the night. Pull the covers up, breakers lapping, soft foam against your chin. Close your eyes. Your body remembers the way back home. Your body can't forget. Don't worry, you’ll rise again in the morning.

You ask me if I’ll write a poem, a song, anything to process the grief we just walked through: pockmarked bedrock, waterfalls where the river used to run, soil still hardened and blackened and scarred. It’s a question to start small talk on our walk home, your attempt at lightening the mood of whatever hell we just woke up from, gasping for breath beneath a chessboard sky. I laugh sharply in response, shake my head––how do I say I already have a poem in what I’m carrying home: palms dirty from cleaning out debris and planting hopes into the crater floor, a packet of forget-me-not seeds in my pocket, your hand still warm in mine. I’ll wait for another stanza to be written in the flowers that will bloom amid all this wreckage, the vines reaching down from above, the grid of grief one day overgrown with green.

i just want to give a big huge thank you to all of those who have ever read my work, whether it was for the dream smp or anything else that i've written. i wouldn't have fallen in love with poetry again if it weren't for the smp and the amount of support all of you have given me. i have grown so much as a writer, and the smp is pretty much the major reason why. it inspired me to such a degree that i wanted to create again, i wanted to write, i was bursting with ideas all the time. poetry, in a lot of ways, is still a rather "niche" thing, for lack of a better term, so i cannot thank all of you enough for the amount of love you've shown my poems. from art inspired by my work, to long asks, to keysmashes in my notes, i appreciate all of it. the community that i have found here has been unlike any other online community that i've been part of. i spent the majority of my teen years here with all of you, and it's been such a wild ride, but the best one in my life. i am so happy that i found tommy, tubbo, wilbur, the smp as a whole, and all of you. i couldn't have asked for anything better than this. thank you thank you thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

this isn't a goodbye to the smp or to my poetry about it. as long as i'm inspired by these characters, i'll keep writing about them. i just thought that now would be a good time to show how much everything here has meant to me, especially in regard to my writing. thank you for believing in me and loving my work as much as i do. there is nothing in this world that is more fulfilling to me than my art, and i cannot express how thankful i am to all of those who read it.

i've been thinking about this for awhile, and figured i'd get other people's opinions on it:

should i abandon/archive my dsmp sideblog (@loyallium) and return to posting all my dsmp things to my main?

pros: the dsmp is really important to me and i love seeing my other mutuals' interests even when i don't know what they are, so i want to be able to share my biggest interest too. i want fanart & meta posts & everything mixed amongst my other aesthetic/life/miscellaneous posts on here bc my blog is a scrapbook of Me and dsmp is a big part of me

cons: currently the people who follow my sideblog are all (obviously) dsmp fans, so if i archive it and merge to my main i don't know how many of them will follow me, since it won't Only be dsmp content anymore. also the other con is considering wht would happen to everything i have on that blog already––i wouldn't delete it, but a primary use of tumblr for me is archiving/sorting/cataloguing things, so it could be confusing/annoying to have half my dsmp content on one blog and half on another, unless i went through and moved a lot of it over to my main (which i don't see myself going through the effort of doing, except for maybe some of my original content / l'sonas' stuff)
