MCSR MOTORSPORTS AU (1/3)

LORE AHEAD::

4 years ago marks the start of a massive haul in regulations which started the Ranked era in Formula 1

F1 encompasses the broader RSG category. (Therefore, runners like couri was a 1x WDC before the Ranked era.)

WEC encompasses the All Advancements category (get it? cus it’s endurance? heh)

The 1st year of the F1 Ranked era roughly encompasses seasons 0-2 of mcsr ranked

Years 2-3 encompasses seasons 3-7

Year 4 encompasses season 8-current

REDBULL::

Silver:

Debuted before the ranked era (5 years ago, nod to his prevalence in Ranked season 0 and early RSG)

Originally partners with Fein in his second year to his third year

Charles Leclerc treatment, potential (it’ll make sense later)

Hax:

Won the WDC in his rookie year (year 4/current year of the Ranked era) against Infume

Kimi Antonelli treatment, rookie star

FERRARI::

Infume:

I thought it would be Really Funny if his not-winning-ranked-tournaments streak translated to the au hence:

Lost the WDC to Doogile despite winning more races in his debut season (season rank vs playoffs)

Lost the WDC to Hax year 4

George Russel treatment, squished between Lowkey/Doogile and Hax

Feinberg:

Won the first year of the new regulations (reference to his ranked season 0-2 dominance)

Originally was with Redbull for his first 2 years because he was a Redbull sponsored WEC driver but joined Ferrari in his 3rd year.

He’s on his 4th year in F1 but he’s been racing WEC for two years before that (get it, cus aa?)

(lots of WEC lore for fein cus I love WEC) In his 2 year of racing WEC before F1, he won the 4 major 24 hour WEC events (Spa, Nurburgring x2, Daytona, and Le Mans x2)

Leaving F1 this year to race in the 12 hour WEC races with Ferrari sponsorship (trying to win every major WEC event)

MERCEDES::

Rowl:

Similar to Silver’s situation

Biology, Powers, and Technology

Biology:

Most Ranked residents are human-shaped, but not necessarily fully human

Having some minor nonhuman traits is pretty standard

These traits usually do not provide many noticable benefits or disadvantages

Powers:

About 2 in 3 people in Ranked have a power

A power is anything that either enhances an individual's non-human trait to provide noticable benefits, or (rarer) is an entirely seperate ability unrelated to the individual's base biology.

There are three categories of powers. From most to least common we have:

Enhancement (50%): Individuals with this power type have one or more of their base biological traits enhanced to provide noticable benefits. For example, those who have large enough wings to fly with would be considered enhanced. This category also includes general body enhancements such as sensing, strength, and temperature resistance.

Shapeshifting (30%): Individuals with this power type have two forms, and can swap between them at will. They can also partially transform, though that takes more dedicated training to master.

Contractor (20%): Individuals with this power type have the ability to manipulate a specific part of the world around them for an equal price. This is a very broad category, encompassing anything from elemental manipulation to healing to power nullification. However, the more powerful the ability, the worse the trade-off. For example, if one has only minor fire manipulation, their trade would be energy/stamina. A powerful healer on the other hand may need to trade their memories, vision, or even lifespan to access their ability.

Technology:

Ranked's technology is rather advanced and rapidly continues to get better

Holographic screens are rather common, with most Ranked residents having F3 overlays to help guide them around the ever-chaotic city. Theres also a system of projectors to inform citizens of villain activity

A decent number of heroes are unpowered, preferring to fight with either personal or HQ technology.

Notable technology includes the development of the Enderpearl by Stables Enterprises, Regeneration Garrots by Treasure Healthcare, and the Global Navigation System by Ninjabrain Robotics.

Heroes and Villains

Heroes:

There are many different hero associations in each city corresponding to geographical area. each patrols during a different time (timezone-dependent: eg. HBG afternoon shift, ANZ overnight shift, CAR 24/7)

Villains:

High-profile criminals get labled as Villains

Classification system is rather complicated, but its based on the ELO System

ELO System - Unique to Ranked City:

Both Heroes and Villains are ranked using the "ELO" system in the heroes database. This information is released to the public as well (only a few times a month though)

Serves as a measurement of effectiveness for heroes, and a threat measurement for villains

Heroes:

Each sucessful mission corresponds to a specific number of ELO points gained (higher difficulty = more points)

Property destruction, civillian casualties, PR issues, etc lose ELO points

Criminals + Villains:

Their ELO is gained though suceeding at crimes (higher level of severity corresponding to more ELO gained)

Also can gain ELO though beating heroes in fights

Lose ELO by losing fights AND injuries sustained

At a certain ELO threshold, a Criminal with then be moved to to the classification of Villain

My HFHV AU Worldbuilding - Part 1

Geography and Government

Geography:

Ranked City in the greater MCSR area

RSG as the capital (will not be relevant, but lowkey skycrab nofear, etc are heroes there)

All Advancements as another city (superc, snakezy, cooshw, katherine, doypingu, etc are heroes there)

Some other cities include SSG, No Reset, and Modern Version

Ranked City:

Each speedrunning split has its own meaning and location in Ranked.

Suburbs (Overworld):

Suburbs named after the different overworld types (Desert temple - edge of city, Ruined Portal - close to downtown, Shipwreck - harbour area, Buried Treasure - rich people beach view, Village - everywhere else)

Hax and Infume share an apartment in Ruined Portal

Downtown (Nether)

Downtown is called "Nether" - it has been informally split into different districts. The HBG, ANZ, and CAR headquarters, as well as RCF Hospital, are located in the greater Nether area and not within a specific district.

"Bastion" is the commercial district where people shop (sidenote: theres 4 main corporations owned by the Piglin Siblings. you'll never guess what they're called)

"Fortress" is the financial district - those in finance are informally called Blazes. Most citizens dont want to deal with Fort too long since the workers can get a bit firey. (Also. "Blaze-bedding" may be slang for... something...)

"Blind" is the business district. Most offices and newstations are located in this area. It got its name from being mostly untouched by villain attacks, if not villain activity.

Other:

The subways running under the entirity of Ranked are known as "The Stronghold." It was out of a sense of irony that the term was first coined. Getting lost is a big problem, especially considering parts are regularly closed-off for repairs

The End consists of the industrial districts on the outskirts of the city. This is the poorest and most crime-riddled area in Ranked, hence the name.

Government + Economics:

MCSR governed by SRC (speedrun community council - each individual on said council is referred to by "Mod")

Ranked has an elected council but due to being in a near constant state of emergency, many decisions are made by Oliver (mayor) and Redlime (vice). This works surprisingly well. Mostly.

Due to various monopolies (*cough* Piglin Siblings *cough*), parts of Ranked operate closer to oligopolies.
