Rest in Power Big Brother; Matthew Simon Bott! All love to my family and friends on this day! Today marks the 5th Anniversary of his passing. Of course, it’s a sad day. But I thought today I’d share with you all the realisation that saved my life, and turned it all around for me. For some time after Matt’s death I was lost, broken and self destructive. Sadness? Oh if only that word came close to explaining the feeling of emptiness I was left with. He was my everything; my idol! And the One person I knew would never EVER leave me!... Until he left all of us! I wasn’t angry. It wasn’t his fault. I knew instantly it would either make me or break me. It broke me!! There was a time when I didn’t think I’d see a year on from his death, let alone 5! (Thanks & Praise). And then one day, I realised something. In Matthews death he gave me the greatest gift a brother could ever give. He gave me a reason to live! He gave me the motivation to do something with my life! To do him proud and achieve all he ever dreamed for me; for us!! No one ever supported my hopes and aspirations more, so I owe it to him to achieve all that I can! That realisation has created a fire within me that can not be put out. Even if at times the flame within is reduced to a mere candle flickering, it doesn’t go out! Matthew, I only wish you were here now to talk you through all I’ve achieved, over a beer 😉 thank you for being My brother. Thank you for raising me to be the man I am. Thank you for being you!
