Meet Lucabulary

Hello All! I’m Lucabulary and this is a place where I'm sharing some of my favorite projects and art that I’m working on. I'm a graphic designer and illustrator who loves dungeons and dragons and all things fantasy. My favorite author is Terry Pratchett, and my favorite thing to do is doodle something whimsical!

Check out this linework speedpaint for a room in my Wandering Spirits webcoming!

Going from a rough sketch to clean linework is always so satisfying, and I haven't done a speedpaint in a while. I'll have more of the process coming soon. I think the colors for this room came out great. I went a bit hardcore on this one and ended up pouring wayyyy too much time into details lol. I just thought it would be cool to try and capture the vibe of one of my O.C.'s bedrooms. :D

Wandering Spirits: A Web Comic

Landing Page/Master Post

My upcoming webcomic is called Wandering Spirits and it is about what happens when ordinary people discover that the world is more complex, and more magical than they ever thought. They travel to new worlds, meet strange people, and confront the biases and flaws that come to the surface when new - and difficult - circumstances arise. There is magic gunslinging, wizards, a dragon, and yes, a very cool talking frog.

I'm still at the beginning of my art process. I'm just about to wrap up working on my script (hopefully in a few weeks XD) and start working on the comic part. (FINALLY!!!) This has been a work in progress for the past five years, and has been a story idea in my head for at least ten, so I am very, very excited to finally be getting to the part where I share it with people. It might still be a ways out since I want to make sure I have a good backlog of stuff to post so I don't overwhelm myself, but there will be lots of concept art to look forward to.

This is my first time finishing a story, (except a couple of short stories.) It's what I was working on as I was learning how to even write in the first place. As such, it's a bit rough around the edges, but I love these characters, and I love, love this story. Hopefully it turns out good.

Zine Sets

These three sets are a project i worked on a few years ago to practice formatting, get into some illustration and creative writing, and make some of my first zines. As I was getting ready to open my first booth, I wanted to try making something really fun with lots of treats and goodies in it for people to enjoy. I also wanted to write something whimsical and imaginative. The result is these three sets - Forest Lore, VS, and The Magic of Hot Air Balloons. I illustrated, printed, cut and bound all of these myself :D These sets are available on my etsy shop.
