Can we talk about how this scene was in front of like half the village??? the villiage where rumors spread quickly and everyone cares about other peoples' buisness???? where being gay is considered being ill???? and to 'hikaru' in his monster form too???

#CRIES I love them #okay I have some thoughts though #my personal interpretation was that this interaction was private even though it was physically infront of everyone #I got that sense because Satoru tried making a wish to Hikaru immediately afterwards #and also she was super close to them when the whole exchange occurred #BUT what this post did make me think about #was that its probably true that Yoshiki didn’t KNOW it was going to be a private conversation #he just didn’t care #he has grown so much that he literally doesn’t give a fuck and he loves Hikaru more than he cares about what the villagers think #I also like to think that Yoshiki has settled on leaving with Hikaru after all is said and done #“my place in life is still up ahead” (or something) ya know???#and it’s up ahead WITH HIKARU cries #so he literally is like fuck this village and I don’t care what anyone thinks anymore I’m outta here!#OR sad but hilarious- he realizes that people are forgetting who he is anyways so he doesn’t care if they see GAHA #that also might be a reason for him leaving :( even leaving his family behind #because everyone will start to forget him anyway and he knows he and Hikaru can find a new place to both belong without needing to be tied #to any community in particular #not to mention Hikaru was just outted to everyone and it’s yet to be seen if he’s going to be accepted or not

Obsessed with the idea of Hikaru getting flustered after Yoshiki reciprocates physical touch. He’s so used to Yoshiki being so nonchalant about Hikaru’s advances in order to fly under the gay-dar. But when they’re alone - Yoshiki ruffles Hikarus hair, grabs his shirt, falls to his knees with his head against his chest...etc. And I feel like it catches Hikaru off guard every time. It’s so cute.

holy shit okay, i love the obsessive/possessive narrative and like the way it's from both sides

like yoshiki being like "i want you to be by my side even if you are fake" (ch1) / "whatever you are, having you by my side is better than not having you at all" (ch1) / "and you like me? [...] then never disappear on me ever again" (ch2)

and hikaru being like "I may be borrowing this body but my feeling for you are real" (ch1) / "I'm crazy for you" (ch2) / "I can always be with you now. Ill just have to make sure no one else takes you..." (ch3)

#YESSS im so glad someone is talking about this #in the anime these scenes are flipped and so on my first watch it didn’t really draw the comparison #but in the manga the translation and the arrangement of the scenes made it so much more clear to me #they both are so possessive/obsessive I love the way you frame it here #Hikaru and Yoshiki were best friends since childhood #in their flashbacks it shows that their friendship was kind of obsessive as well #hikaru was always saying he would come over to Yoshiki’s place and never leave him alone long enough to have a girl over #Yoshiki obviously being obsessed with him romantically and shame spiraling #so of course Yoshiki would be possessive of ‘Hikaru’ especially as a way to cope with Hikaru’s death #and Unuki has these memories and some feelings from Hikaru PLUS his possessiveness of him because Yoshiki has accepted him and became #a place for him to belong to and he won’t give that up for anything #the summer hikaru died #tshd #yoshikaru #hikaru ga shinda natsu
