There was a pause. “I really don’t know how we are still friends...” Lucas spoke eventually giving a disapproving shake of his head at the others lack of taste. “You know you could show me what you do and I could pick certain parts of it up straight away.”

“Holy shit... You’re good.” Perhaps he sounded more surprised than he ought to have been but he couldn’t help it. He hadn’t known that Dawn was good at this.

“Ow ow ow!” Lucas whined, his tongue sticking out of his mouth as he tried to cool it as he flung his hand around. Apparently he’d attempted to eat the marshmallow but had promptly burned his fingers upon contact. Then, being smart he’d decided to put the melting marshmallow in his mouth which had resulted in a double burning. “Stupid... dumb... thing.” He spluttered out.

“You have questionable tastes.” Danny corrected the other, but then again his were no better, he would just argue that they were to make him seem cooler. “Hey- I’m always fun, who said I wasn’t fun?”

“Psh...” He huffed though there was a smile on his face regardless. “I’m just saying I don’t see it often enough. Kinda a shame really cause I like it.”

“I didn’t realise people wanted ice cream at this time,” Beckett said to the person approaching the store as he was opening it at 11am, “Or was there something else you were after?” He asked, turning to the other with a charming smile.

“Man, I take ice cream at any point of the day. It being the morning doesn’t make it an inappropriate time to buy, least not in my opinion.” Lucas stated with a wide grin as he followed the other male in. “Nah. Ice cream it is.”

“Because it’s me?” she looked at him with slight confusion, “Nice to know I can get away with basically any crime with you,” Marzia slid in casually with a laugh as he slung an arm around her shoulder. “Can’t wait for you to eat your words, dorkus. I could be a frickin’ Olympian at this if air hockey was considered an Olympic sport.”

“An Olympian at air hockey. Not sure that’d be the most impressive sport but I feel like with you it’d become a dangerous one. Pucks flying everywhere and all that.” Lucas teased as they finally got to the table, dinosaur in tow. “Come on then, pro-athlete. Let’s see your skills.”

“Well we definitely disagree there. Anything is better if it’s scientifically accurate. But, that’s the scientist in me talking.” Wes chuckled. “Disown me, sure. But if you have a problem with your powers, I won’t be around to help.”

“How do you account for star wars, The Santa Clause, the Avengers?” Lucas listed off with ease. “And what’re you gonna do for my powers huh?” He teased, not that Lucas was ever petty enough to do anything like that but if nothing else, he was definitely a bit of a joker.

“Well I will try anything that you cook. So surprise me?” April said with a somewhat weak smile.

“Given you’re not one hundred percent well, I’ve always been taught that soup is the best remedy food wise so I’ll see what you have in and I am sure I can knock something together while you curl up under a blanket.” Lucas half instructed as they slowly made their way back to the woman’s rooms.

“Maybe it’s you who has the poor taste.” Danny pointed out to the other, “It can be my persuasion when I’m in a good enough mood, but seriously, don’t expect it to become a regular thing. Because it won’t be.”

“Hey now, I have epic tastes I’ll have you know.” Lucas informed the man with a laugh as he continued to bust moves on the floor. “I’ll just make the most of it then because seeing this side of you is fun.”

“You mean to tell me you wouldn’t mind me stealing the gigantic dino you just won? Impossible,” Marzia couldn’t even imagine that. “You sure you want to sound that confident? You haven’t seen me play,” she added with a wink before getting set up.

“Maybe. It’s you. I’d probably be able to spend just as much time with it anyway considering how much we hang out.” Lucas pointed out with a chuckle, slinging an arm around her shoulder as he caught up once more. “I may not have seen you play but I’m sure you can’t be that impressive.” He couldn’t help but goad playfully.

“I think a scientifically accurate version of Star Wars would be just as satisfying,” Wesley replied, grinning at the thought of how some of the scenes would change. “I’m not being a killjoy here, just speaking the truth.”

“Dude, I’m not convinced.” Lucas answered with a shake of his head. “Star Wars is ironic. Iconic. You can’t change it.” He stated with conviction. “And I would say you definitely are. Such a freaking killjoy I feel like I ought to disown you.”

“Well, I mean what’s the harm in making them accurate?” Wes asked, genuinely not knowing the answer. “There’s no way Jedi’s are real.”

“Didn’t say there was a problem with making them accurate, I just don’t mind the fact they aren’t in some situations otherwise we wouldn’t have epic movies like Starwars and Die Hard.” Lucas answered with a smirk. “And stop being such a killjoy.”

“What- you mean to tell me that I don’t look like the kind of guy who can enjoy some decent pop music?” Danny commented with a laugh, “She’s good, man. Her album Emotion is a classic. As for the dancing, with the right persuasion I can make an exception.”

“Yeah, you do. Decent being the operative word there.” And Lucas wasn’t sure he’d go so far as to talk the song decent as such. Catchy; sure. A snort left him though. “And this is your persuasion huh? Well at least I know for the future I guess if I ever have a deep seated need to get you to dance.”

“I don’t know what to tell you, but that’s not how black holes work,” Wes sighed. “Nothing on sci-fi shows is accurate anymore.”

“Don’t tell me you watch those shows and expect them to be scientifically accurate. You’re pretty naive if you do.” Lucas stated as he bit into his apple. “I mean... I love em but I don’t actually believe all that. Unless we’re talking about Jedi’s. I totally believe I can become a Jedi.”

“They’re not that different. I mean, there’s maybe other techniques involved in baking but cooking has lots of technique too, depending on what you’re cooking,” April explained, “But I’m intrigued. What can you cook?”

“I’m pretty versatile cooking wise. You sound like you are after something in particular.” Lucas stated, raising an eyebrow.

“Mhm... Well you say that as if I would mind.” Lucas answered, though a smile drew over his face at the others competitive nature. “Come on then. Let’s do this.”

“You are? Then how come you’re always saying you’re gonna be no help when we bake?” April asked but she was smiling sweetly, “Well I would suggest a movie night and junk food, feeling well or not. It’s like my favourite kind of night.”

“Baking and cooking are two completely different beasts. I do a lot more cooking than baking. It’s kinda been more important in the past for me so that’s why I say I need help when baking.” Lucas explained simply. “I had kinda noticed that though.”
