What do you think of murder mystery?
bear with me, because i have lots of thoughts, and some of them were shared by different people, so i want to quote them here since there are so many amazing ideas floating in the fandom!
i had something in my blog saying how much i wanted a halloween reunion where we could have scavenger hunts and more stuff like that, so the theme makes me really happy!
it was my expectation instead of the wedding. i thought it was too ooc and too soon for some of them to propose and get married. running away with lottie or hannah was also really weak since there was no real route for them.
the people that aren't present, especially henrik, carl and kassam, makes me a bit sad. given kassam's personality, he would've been the prickly boy lucas has been.
carl would definitely love being there because this is a rpg! you're gonna tell me he wouldn't be thrilled to help with the story?? or the costumes?? carl is a true nerd and it was a waste not having him here for this! (also a headcanon that he bickers back and forth with chelsea about things because she's always lost in fantasy land and he's more practical).
henrik would've been himself, letting dumb!gary be just gary. @juggalohenrik suggested mountain boy as a botanist, having a rivalry with noah's alter ego, and that's simply awesome! she also made this masterpiece!
and here's the thing, @rennell talked about in this post how lucas or lottie didn't need to be here, and instead hope and henrik could. i have to agree... HEAR ME OUT!
i love lucas! i do! but this is the type of story that needs the contribution of the personalities involved. he's not the "goofy and fun" type that this murder mystery requires! henrik would've been a better addition to the first few episodes.
- hope being the "mother" of the group would try to put some order in the house, in vain, and that would've been fun to see!
- @hopeshoodie said in a post, and i agree, characters have been very ooc, especially priya and lucas. gary has the IQ of a carrot and he was never that thick in the game. maybe clueless and emotionally dumb, like anne suggested, but not a case of clinical stupidity.
- noah is the li that should have a decent screen time now, given his villa route is shit and we only get to have few moments with him since day 1 in the villa.
- ibrahim is a fun character in the villa, but the logic of not having carl, kassam and henrik, because they're not popular, definitely applies to golf boy as well.
to me, these three episodes were fun to play, and i'm genuinely excited to see what happens next. i reckon there's gonna be more surprises, and more islanders participating. personally, i'm rooting for a surprise chelsea prepared, beforehand, to give us a scare.
something like voices while everyone is on the living room, together. weird noises, winds, objects flying and more. something like that could be done with the li you married (that isn't present). that would be fun and cute, and would have a dialogue that goes "of course i came, i wouldn't miss it for the world!" (looking pointedly at carl and his work schedule!!).
who/what i want to avoid:
- rocco, blake, jo, casa amor guys like felix and elijah (unless you're married to them);
- blake, jo, elisa if it means they would bring back old disputes. i don't want the reinforcement of past fights we had. it was done and now it's over, no need for those to be further explored. wouldn't mind having elisa there, but if they made the slight adjustment about her influencer talk;
so yeah, i like it a lot! of course there's some things i would change, but i genuinely think it's a good surprise and i want to play it to the end.
