Commission work: I make transit maps for your geofiction projects! (Cities/regions/countries...)
Greetings! My name is Luca, I am a 20-year old college student from Germany (studying Geography, wooo).
I’ve been making (transit) maps for about 7-8 years now and have a finished degree in graphic design, and I’d like to offer my help with these in the form of commissions for others’ fictional cities/teritorries/etc., since I have recently started college and could really use the extra support. I remember how it felt when I lacked the necessary skills to do this years ago and couldn’t find someone who could help me online, so I want to change that for others! I can make maps in English and German.
Examples of my works can be found on this blog or here: https://imgur.com/a/QWfMKl4 (These are all small cutouts of relatively complex systems, but I can also make much simpler works like a subway map with only a few lines, obviously! Also, they are uploaded in a lesser resolution to avoid pirating! Upon request, I can send specific maps/images in higher resolution as well.)
As you can see, there are 2 general styles I usually work in:
-The more minimalist one with the white circles filled with color for stops and rather diagonal line layout
-The more maximalist, colorful one with more text and bigger stops with black outlines (scroll a bit further down on the work example page)
These are the ones I will revert to when given no further instructions, though I am also more than willing to work in the style you would like me to (e.g. “like the tube map” etc…) and follow design instructions you give me.
PRICES:
Prices can be negotiated individually since this kind of work is hard to standardize and also depends on the amount of lines, stops etc. so they may vary slightly, BUT general prices for orientation are:
Basic transit map (only a handful of lines, one city/district…): 10 €
(Examples: City Tram/Underground network, S-Bahn/Metro network, train network for a small region/district, etc…)
Advanced transit map (more lines, several means of transportation combined…): 20 €
(Examples: Combined bus/train networks (depends on amount of bus lines), train maps for regions, etc…)
Complex transit map (a huge system with tons of lines, combined transit, for large areas…): 45 € [These can take several weeks to finish.]
(Examples: Complex transportation maps for entire states or countries, transit maps for huge cities/regions combining trams/busses/trains, etc…)
As stated above, prices may vary individually depending on your specific request, the amount of references I am given and how many additional design qualities you want me to add. Which category your request falls into will also be discussed individually.
Payment will be dealt with via PayPal (in exceptional cases we can also talk about bank transfer, but PayPal is highly favored).
