Every time he finds a mythology book that contains an article about Thalassa, he cracks an unusually funny smile it creeps people who happened to see him wearing such expression.
She wondered if Aether really would have believed if she told him that the kids werenāt hisā¦ For his reaction, that was what he had first thought of, and made Hemera worry. Had she been that bad in the past? Had she really done something to lose his trustā¦ If that was it, she was going to get that trust back no matter what. She did not want to lose his consort anytime soon.
"Aether, dear. I have been searching you since you disappearedā¦. When normally I wait until you come back to me. That should have warned you that I needed to say something to you." Smiling softly, she rested her hand in his cheek, trying to calm him down slightly. "Donāt worry, I did drop this as a surprise. We can take this together. Like we have always done."
"I didn'tā think that you wanted to tell me that kind of newsā"
He failed to see the urgency behind her actions. And still, she didn't condemn him for it... perhaps a little frustrated, but he didn't see her expressing it. Come to think of it, how many times had he unknowingly made Hemera feel frustrated with his speeches and behaviors? Uncountable, he believed, but she hadn't lost her patience yet, had she? How admirable.
The Light closed his eyes at the gentle touch on his cheek, and he took a deep sigh, trying to compose himself a little better. "... where are they right now? Am I... allowed to pay them a visit?"Ā Or even call myself their father?
They don't interact much ever since Aether decides that he doesn't like leaving his home in the sky. But they do see each other every time Nyx goes up in her chariot and starts her duty, and every time they'll exchange small smiles and he knows that his mother still love him all the same.

You know how Aether always puts on cold attitude but actually that's because he's socially awkward? Well, he got it from Erebus. The older isn't the kind of father that openly shows his affections to his family, unlike Nyx, though it's still conveyed.

After his wife-sister Hemera, among Nyxās daughters he likes the Hesperides the best. They are unlike the ever violent Keres and he likes how theyāre always sweet and bright, sending him apples now and then, and in return he delivers them cloud-woven kilts made by the Nephelai.

Aether used to be very close to Hypnos, as he was the big brother that the Sleep adored the most. He would accompany the little daimon playing, back when Hypnos was alienated by the rest of their siblings, to the point that people remember, that if he's not in the Night's embrace, then he would most likely toddled right beside the Light.

He is fond of Astraios and his family, but especially the Titan of Stars himself, for the similarity in their personality. When they spare some times to see each other, they usually just exchange greetings and ask for one another's condition before falling silent and start observing the mortals together.

Aether is anti-Zeus, but he doesn't regard the King as an enemy. They exchange so few words, and most of them are carried through Hermes. None of them contain malicious threats or insults, as Aether tries to be as indifferent as possible, hoping that Zeus can tell that he still doesn't want anything to do with him and the Olympian gods.Ā

Before Astraios, he used to always hang out with Hyperion. Now that the Titan of Light remains in Tartarus and avoids needless interactions, he's no longer able to know the condition of the younger, aside from that Hyperion is as lovey dovey as always with Theia.

Due to the difference between their fields of jurisdiction, Aether doesn't interact much with Chaos, and only knows about her from his parents. Although lives alone and with a lot of spare time, Aether rarely falls into deep thoughts about himself. He knows that he's awkward, but only condemn himself when conversations with people that he loves went wrong. When he's all by himself and with nothing to do, he doesn't try to evaluate his faults or anything.

What ex? He doesnāt have an ex. Why would this awkward dork have exes when nearly no one can stand romancing him?
Oh~ There it was, one of Aetherās wonderful and rare smiles. How much she loved them. The smileās homely feeling was greatly welcomed after the great amount of stress she had put herself under while searching for her consort. Still, the sleepless days and the stress had all been worth it, because, well, Aether was right in front of her. And he wasnāt going to disappear again, she was going to make sure of that.
Red tinting slightly at one of her brotherās sign of affection, Hemera smile widened even more. Ā āDonāt worry about it, brother. Aether chuckled softly after he had his cheek kissed by his sister-wife. His facial expression had become much more relaxed along with the warm feeling that spread within him. It kind of hurt his muscle face, for he hadn't worn such expression for a long time, but he supposed he would eventually get used to it from now on.
"Thank you. And while I don't dislike the prospect of that, perhaps others should be concerned." Gently, he caressed the outline of her face, admiring her dazzling beauty. "I might be so elated that Mother's veil wouldn't be able to block my shine, and the Stars and the Moon might be upset that I outshine them."
Hemera had expected surprise from Aether, hell, she was going to welcome itā¦ Until she had accidentally mispronounced her sentence and caused an misunderstanding. Still, it surprised her to see his ever composed demeanor break down so easilyā¦ For the gods! It wasnāt the first time she had been pregnant!
"Sorryā¦ I actually meant to say that I was pregnant.. I discovered just after you left Olympus.. And I just thought I should tell you you have a pair of twins that donāt ever know youā¦.ā Luckily enough they didnāt hate his fatherā¦ Muchā¦ They just wondered why had they been neglected.
Ah, that calmed him down. Slightly. He'd thought Hemera went with another man and was impregnated without him knowing but, now that he think about it again, it was highly impossible. Aether felt so ashamed that the thought even occurred to him and knew he deserved a slap or a punch from her.
Before they sort to his punishments, though.Ā
"I... no one told meā" he tucked back a few strands of his hair that covered his sight, and realized that his fingers trembled due to nervousness, "and someone really shouldā I deserve to knowā though I'm being difficultā" a frustrated grunt at how he became inarticulate in his speeches and Aether hid his face behind his hand.

"... Hmm... Actually, that was meant for you, Aether. But of course, we should give something to our Father too!" She smiled cheerfully to her Light.
Her cheerful grin was met with a confused stare, and for a moment he forgot the issue of choosing a suitable present for Erebus.
"... I'm a father?"
Since when?Ā Wasn't it precisely because they hadn't been blessed with any child that their little brother sneered at him years ago? Not that he mind much, whether he and his wife-sister could have one or two child together. But, really? Aether, a father?
Some used to ask Aether why would he wears dark coats, when he is the very substance that is Light. They believed light, pastel colors would suit him better. When he was asked such questions and given such opinions, he would always scoffs and refused to give an answer. He believed that they would eventually connect the dots when they recall his lineage.
For the first time after a long while, the Light's composed demeanor cracked. The news struck him hard, worse than any of Zeus's thunderbolts, and for awhile the only thing he could do was to stand before her with mouth agape.
"... C-congratulations...?" Aether desperately wanted to slap himself for stuttering, and even sounded hesitant with his celebratory greeting. How unfitting for a proud god like him. He made sure his nervousness wasn't too vividly conveyed in his voice (though he failed terribly) when he asked, "And whose child is it...?"
