Sonik spring is a project realized by Tomas Henriques, researcher of the music department in Buffalo. That's a special spring that thanks to the hands movement interact with an audio track modifing the pitch, velocity, frequency and so on...  vibration, extensions and rotation are recorded via this hardware interface and after processed via max/msp. really cool!!

AHAHHAHAHAHHAHHA !!!! looool! really funny that's a new way to make motion caricatures using Farneback optical flow, the algorithm is used to compute a displacement mesh and amplifying that displacement. Based on an idea from Jonas Jongejan.

Absolutelly amazing research! a new kind of clothes' material... 

The series comprising two dresses, made of photoluminescent thread and imbedded eye tracking technology, is activated by spectators' gaze. A photograph is said to be “spoiled” by blinking eyes – here however, the concept of presence and of disappearance are questioned, as the experience of chiaroscuro (clarity/obscurity) is achieved through an unfixed gaze.

This is the wonder.... is one of the most brilliant things that i ever seen... 

“Eunoia” is a performance that uses my brainwaves -- collected via EEG sensor-- to manipulate the motions of water. It derives from the Greek word “ey” (well) + “nous” (mind) meaning "beautiful thinking”. EEG is a brainwave detecting sensor. It measures frequencies of my brain activity (Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, Theta) relating to my state of consciousness while wearing it. The data collected from EEG is translated in realtime to modulate vibrations of sound with using software programs. EEG sends the information of my brain activity to Processing, which is linked with Max/MSP to receive data and generate sound from Reaktor.

Amazing Idea!!!

What if we could escape our daily routine for a moment ? A Step, just one, that could move us miles away from here, in a second; a flash step. A Shunpo.

Shunpo was shot in 6 days in 13 different locations in Paris plus one in Turkey at "Tuz Gölü" salt lake. The camera used was a Canon 5D Mark III with 16-35 L, 24-70L and 70-200L lenses.

It's Summer!!! go slow...  a fantastic superslowmotion video...

Last week we hosted an open house-- part of The St. Louis Egotist's Kegs With Legs (a traveling happy hour for ad industry folk). We wanted to take the opportunity to make this into something memorable, so we brought in a Phantom Miro and let folks run wild with it cranking away at 1500fps. The following is a compilation of what those folks got into in about 5 hours with the booth… Oh, and we had 11 kegs of beer to fuel the mayhem.

SONOS PLAYGROUND Deconstructed - Museum of the Moving Image

Sonos Playground Deconstructed is a site-specific installation in the Nam June Paik / HBO Production Lab at the Museum of the Moving Image. It is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Spectacle: The Music Video.

Visitors are able to select any song from an iPad running spotify and watch a visualization of the music projected onto the surrounding walls. Through motion-capture technology, visitors can interact with and manipulate the animation through movement.

The installation aims to bring minimalist art to life as an immersive music video environment. Inspired by the wall drawings of Sol LeWitt and the room-flooding sound of the Sonos Playbar, Sonos Playground was originally installed in a 250 sq. ft shed at the Sonos Studio at the 2013 SXSW festival. At Museum of the Moving Image, Sonos Playground Deconstructed has re-imagined the experience using five detached walls suspended above a reflective floor. Each of the walls has been painted with 27 1-inch wide white lines and 26 2-inch wide black lines. By mapping the white lines set between black lines we were able to create a more immersive and surreal environment.
