OUR HONEYMOON (SAY YOU WANT ME TOO)!
✉️ this is just me missing Italy & dreaming abt being married to Mel so, y'know, ur usual monday night
SOMMAIRE! hcs about honeymooning with Mel in Italy demure! drinking, mentions of flying, married Mel & reader, drunk sex (questionable consent), mentions of fingering, oral (r!receiving), public sex/some exhibitionism, strap usage (r!receiving), like one mention of a baby wc 3.1k 18+ MEN & MDNI
- I think originally, both of you would agree to hire a travel agent to do the majority of the planning for the trip (since there would be the obvious juggling of wedding planning & keeping up with long shifts), but then there would be one night when you’re lying in bed & Mel points out the lack of the beach day you wanted so badly & then you wordlessly agree that: we need to do this ourselves. Mel often only feels comfortable making such big commitments when she’s doing the organizing herself, & her first time traveling out of the country, not to mention your honeymoon, is a bigger than big deal. So another planning journal joins the many others you’d been collecting as wedding prep began to become more & more central in your daily lives. & you tell Mel that you can take care of the heavy load of the honeymoon, but she’s still asking Langdon about the trip he took when he was in college & scrolling through Google & keeping a list of every tiny thing you mention you saw online &, yes, she even forces herself to watch the “aesthetic” vlogs on YouTube. But you still show her what you’ve managed to pull together– Only for her to point out that: “You have to book some of the trains ahead of time” & “That AirBnB lists that it has a working stove, but not an oven” & “It’s not practical to go to Capri, honey, that’s in the south– Everywhere else you wanna go is in the North”– So you gave honeymoon-logistics over to her. Which seemed to make her feel much better, & it gave you more time to focus on your outfits, you supposed.
- Mel struggles with flying, which is the only hurdle you have to face for the trip after she’s catalogued everything to a T & had Langdon check it over (because apparently he was very well-traveled). You fly business class, which helps–since she doesn’t have to sit by any strangers & instead is only with you. & you leave two days after the actual wedding, so you’re both still somehow exhausted (not somehow, the logistics of post-celebration were something you didn’t expect to be so tedious). Mel refuses to take any sleep aid. No melatonin, no Benadryl–nothing. She just curls into your side & holds tight during take-off. Once you reach cruising altitude, you notice how she does seem to relax some, but the few times the seatbelt sign comes back on, she’s clinging to you just a little harder again. & you try to get her to watch a movie or two with you, but Mel keeps her eyes on the flight map for 80% of the ten hours.
- With it being both of your first times in Europe, you decided on visiting the classics: Rome, Florence, Como, a day in Cinque Terre, & Milan. Mel didn’t get the appeal of Milan, but you had begged for it since it was such a fashion staple. & you do end up only staying in hotels because Mel honestly has a thing against Airbnb’s, I think. But they’re all beautiful choices. Like– most of them have a pool, Mel found one right across from the Vatican when you were staying in Rome that had the prettiest windows, you stay at this adorable bed and breakfast during your day in Cinque Terre… Because when Mel does research, she does research, & it had to be perfect for you & your honeymoon.
- Speaking of honeymoon… Mel only refers to you as “her wife” or “my wife”. Like, ordering at dinner, she’s all: “Me & my wife would like *insert fancy wine title*” & checking in for reservations it’s: “yeah under ‘King’–two people, yup, my wife & I.” It’s like she still hasn’t wrapped her head around it yet that you’re bound in more ways than one now. You’d always been connected, always had known that this was it for either of you, but it still is like a dream to her being able to call you her wife while you’re in Italy. Watching you walking through the cobbled streets while you point out how pretty all the old European architecture is, glinting ring on your finger with your other hand in hers, & just thinking two things: How are you real? & Wow, I’m married to that. It’s also funny because she keeps thinking about how Becca pointed out that you’re both Dr. King now, making Mel very grateful that she goes by her first name at work so there’ll be less confusion when you return. Even if she hates the thought of returning because she loves Italy so much more than she thought she would.
- Every night of the trip you guys go out to eat. It’s always a spontaneous choice (kind of. Mel has three options for each night & you get to pick which one to go to) & Mel thought that she’d had enough of spaghetti & pizza from Friday night traditions with her sister, but you manage to strike a deal with her to try it in each place at least on the first night, & every time she changes her mind. Somehow, every pasta dish she tries is just different enough to have her practically melting in her chair at how delicious it is, & Mel can’t get over how the food doesn’t make her feel uncomfortably full. How it doesn’t make her stomach hurt, & there were multiple conversations during walks back to your hotels or dessert places about how “wow, people were right about American carbs.” & Mel may not like coffee, but she ends up loving tiramisu. Something about the lightness of the cream with the spongy, espresso-soaked cake was enough to get her past the coffee flavor. & while the gelato & cannolis you get throughout the trip are equally delectable, Mel’s always asking for tiramisu at the end of the night. You guys went to a Michelin star restaurant one night in Milan & you got Limoncello cake to share because Mel thought she would like the fresh lemon flavor, only for it to taste like dish soap & not even be remotely close to a cake texture. More like tough rubber. You had to go to a place swarming with locals at a little before midnight because Mel was almost in tears at how bad the dessert had been & she just “needed tiramisu to erase that from my memory.”
- & with every dinner… bottle of wine that you guys finish way too fast. So you’re walking through the streets a little drink & because Mel can’t help herself, she tries to start a make-out session on three seperate occasions: while searching for an ice cream place your first night there, while you’re trying to squeeze into one of those vintage photobooths in Florence, & right in front of the Vatican while you’re trying to make the last stretch of your walk to the hotel (“Mel, you know the Pope lives there” / “Just one more kiss, please”). You stop her, because you have public decency, but back in your rooms… drunk sex! all sloppy & just feeling each other. hot & sticky in a way that usually starts with Mel eating you out & grinding against the corner of the bed & ends with her panting against your mouth while her clit humps against yours. The dizzy sensation has both of you whining & pleading to each other, fingers gripping at any skin you can reach with the only words you can think of (“love you”) escaping the backs of your throats. Probably verryyyy pathetic like 2 subby girls who just get carried away in each other cause y’all just love each other so much :( Mel’s fingers are twisting at your engagement ring & wedding band the entireeee time you’re fucking cause she’s not thinking clearly & she just wants to make sure you’re there & real & she’s not dreaming
- First night in Rome, before dinner, you guys go to see the Tiber river & find to-go aperol spritz while you walk along the bridges. A random guy is busking on one of the sidewalks as people mill about in the golden hour lighting, sun just on the verge of being ready to set so the sky’s a very pale blue, & it would be the perfect temperature (because you guys definietly got married in spring even if Mel has minor pollen allergies) & you would be in the prettiest butter yellow sundress. You both just sit on the edge of the sidewalk (you wanted to sit on the thick, stone railing of the bridge like the other couples, but Mel refused–didn’t want any opportunity where you might fall), arms looped around each other as you finish your drinks & listen to the thrums of the guitar. A lady starts singing at one point, she’s barefoot & she does sit on the railing, but the way her accent sounds with the English words of some song Mel doesn’t recognize will remain imprinted in her brain forever. After you finish your drinks, you try to do some shopping along the edge of the Tiber, but almost all of the stores are closed because it’s just a bit past 7:30 PM. So, you sit by the river & just chat while the Sun finishes setting. Then, because you’re already tired from walking, you rent Lime bikes & ride along the Tiber back to the steps. The early summer breeze had been just between warm & cool & your hair had looked so beautiful & the sound of your laugh was prettier than anything the woman had sung earlier & when you get back to the steps, you kiss Mel senseless.
- In Florence, you go to a little convenience store right next to your hotel & convince Mel that it’s a good idea to try boxed wine. But she already has an Uber booked to take you both up to Piazzale Michelangelo because she’s seen pictures of the view & how it overlooks all of Florence & has the prettiest gardens next to it & she refuses to take too long to see it. She promised Becca pictures. So, with the wine you purchase disposable cups & after the drive up to the sightseeing, you see the way Mel’s eyes light up at how pretty the view is against the setting sun. She takes her pictures (forcing you to be in many of them), then you find a spot on the steps & drink warm red wine out of plastic cups as the city lights up against the hills. The wine is gross, but you finish the entire thing anyway. You’re giggling & circling each other as you stumble down the steps back into Florence, but you’re so happy & in love that you don’t even care if you might get a few weird looks. Well, Mel kind of does. But then she sees you smile. You walk all the way to a restaurant one of the nurses had recommended, & it has warm lighting & red & white gingham tablecloths, like the cliche Italian places in Pittsburgh, & the best tiramisu Mel has all trip. You find a jazz bar after that, packed with people, so Mel instantly hates it. But, you both hide away in the women’s restroom where you can still hear the music & drunkenly spin around each other.
- When you’re in Como, you decide that you must somehow get on the lake. Mel wants to see where they filmed for Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones, & you just want to be on a boat in Lake Como. So Mel rents a boat before the trip for you both. She’s quick to figure out how to drive it (when she’s not looking at you in the tiny bikini you’re wearing), & she gets to see Villa de Balbianello & take many, many pictures for Becca. She’s on you the entire time about putting on sunscreen, & you do (poorly) only for her to take it upon herself to re-apply it for you once you’ve found a quiet little cover to drop the anchor into the unbelievably blue water. Her hands are warm over your shoulders & under your bikini top as she massages sunscreen into your skin. Neither of you gets in the water. Mel reminds you about all of the protists & other unknown things swimming in the water before her fingers undo the skimpy little laces of your bottoms. She lays you back against the leather seating & eats you out then & there. You have to keep your eyes shut the entire time her tongue traces through your folds, working quickly to keep you from dripping onto the material beneath your bodies, because the sun is too bright. Mel has you cumming against her mouth twice before she pulls away with another gentle kiss to your throbbing, sensitive bud–mumbling something about how you would tan more evenly naked & how: “that bikini didn’t even cover anything.”
- Because you’d begged to go shopping in Milan, Mel makes a list of vintage stores for you to visit. They’re all organized to be set in a schedule where they’re near each other–easy, quick walks so you’re not tiring yourself out by darting around the streets of the city for the two days you stay there. It’s sweet, hunting through pieces of clothing & interesting jewelry & leather purses with her. You convince her to buy a few things, but she insists that this part of the honeymoon is for you. So maybe you do go a little crazy with the shopping, but Mel certainly doesn’t complain when you find a few pretty slip dresses to wear to bed. Not when she gets to touch you in them later (after they’ve been washed).
- You also get your beach day in Cinque Terre, but it doesn’t last for very long. Much more overstimulating than you would’ve guessed–for both of you. For starters, the rocky texture of the beach you’d selected was more aggravating than Mel had originally thought it would be. & it was very crowded. & Mel didn’t like how the Sun beat down on you both so heavily. So, you pack up your beach bag, & opt to explore along the streets of the pretty city. She’s a little quiet, still probably overwhelmed, until you find a shop that sells solely lavender products. It’s cool, smells like heaven, & is out of the way, so there aren’t many people around. It seems to do the trick to calm Mel down. She even gets herself & Becca tiny souvenirs of goat milk soap & fancy bottled lotion.
- The only thing that Mel scheduled to be early in the morning was a cooking class with a Florence local. The woman’s name is Maria & she’s the cutest human you think you’ve ever met (apart from Mel, but they’re two very different forms of thinking something’s cute). She takes you both to a local farmer’s market–showing off all of the different products being sold, even if she got the ingredients for the spaghetti, bruschetta, & tiramisu you were making already. & there’s so much. An outside portion, with flowers & fresh fruits & vegetables & honey & all kinds of cooking supplies. & then the inside is insane. So many different stalls all assigned to different wares. Well, maybe not stalls, but portions of the market. One for cheese & one for seafood & one for jams & one for bread & one for pre-produced coffees & biscuits & one for meats & you could’ve spent your entire morning there. But Maria has to drive you up to her home in Tuscany. It’s the most beautiful place you’ve seen in your life–the sun warm, the amount of greenery making you feel like you’ve slipped away to a secret little heaven in the countryside, the distant sound of cowbells (because the neighbors apparently let the animals wander). The house is beautiful, & you learn that Maria had renovated homes before she retired. Her husband was in southern Italy, you learn as she teaches you & Mel to make homemade pasta & tiramisu, whipping up the bruschetta while the noodles & sauce cooked. Mel is inseparable from your side the entire time, but she engages in conversation with the older woman in a way that’s rare for her. & you know Mel agrees when you would say that Maria is one of the most interesting people you’ve met. The food is amazing. You’re jealous of her home. & Maria tells you that you’re the sweetest couple she’s ever met–that you & Mel remind her of her husband. She even informs you that she used to do art as well, showing you a few pieces that should’ve honestly been hanging in some kind of gallery. & you get to see her husband’s collection of records–hearing about how he would retrieve old vinyls & preserve them. He had roughly 40,000. That was her guess. & while Maria gets her keys to drive you & Mel back to near your hotel, Mel wraps her arms around your middle as she takes in the countryside. “I want to grow old with you like that,” she whispers softly to you before pressing a kiss to your temple & pointing out the lemon tree growing by the front porch.
- & honeymoon sex. Lots of it. Every night. You honestly hadn’t thought that Mel would have it in herself to manage to get between your legs every night, but she manages to beat your sex drive, which is… difficult. Maybe it’s the excitement of being somewhere completely new, the happiness that seems to cling to her bloodstream, or the fact that you’re married, but you’re sobbing into the sheets every night. You get noise complaints in every place you stay. From the headboard bumping against the wall, how loud & whiny you get as her fingers or tongue or whatever she’s feeling works you– how Mel gets too when you get between her legs as well. &, yes, the strap came with. From how hard & often Mel had fucked you with it, you genuinely thought she was trying to make a baby with you at one point. Even though that’s biologically impossible. You get to wear all sorts of cute lingerie for her, she gets to sleep in after wearing you both out–it’s a win-win all around. She would’ve loved to have some shower sex, except she got scared of accidentally pulling the emergency alert system in the heat of the moment. However, she does get to finger you against a set of windows at one point, so that makes up for it–the idea of someone seeing her makes her wife feel good. Mel reminds you of it every morning & night & any waking chance she gets–that you’re on your honeymoon. So naturally, good honeymoon sex is required. Even if you have to beg her for at least one day off to give your sore pussy a break.
Other thoughts: Mel finds out she hates sparkling water, you guys think about trying to have a quickie on one of the train rides but then Mel remembers much too many germs, Mel brings so many different kinds of cameras with her (phone, disposable, digital) & takes so many photos of you (& of Italy since Becca had demanded it), & yes you do the classic sightseeing but it’s too boring for me to write about lollll
