Psycho - Book mockup

Very minimalist approach, wanting to try and get through the main artefacts in the film without giving too much away. I went with a simplistic colour scheme, using two tonal colours and one primary, making sure the primary gave a striking effect. 

The shower scene is the most notable scene in ‘Psycho’ which I replicated for the cover. The Blurb is representation of the knife stabbing in the scene, tearing through the cover.

Minimalistic poster that uses simple shapes and layers. This followed a wild western theme to match the characters look as well as his trademark pose. I thought it’d be fun to create the bullet hole as he shot his own wanted poster. Giving it a bit more ‘Outlaw’ feel to it.

Foiler Experiments for Logo

Playing around with same colour foils and the strong gold to see which was more beneficial for my theme.

The black on black didn’t come out as well as hoped for, but could potentially lead the way forward for potential glossing on business cards. 

The gold is very striking upon the black, showing that the two colours work nicely together.

Dementia book - Prototype

The aim with this piece was to communicate the ‘lost’ theme in the brief I was given. Choosing a diary felt very personal and the idea that this disease takes away what is most valued to the person - memory, language, co-ordination etc. 

I wanted to depict this the further it was read, showing the 7 stages of Dementia and the worsening of it. The typefaces are barely recognisable through the later pages, the actual paper is torn and destroyed to reflect the illness. As well as the struggle of the person trying to communicate what they want to, but are struggling.

The pages were cut down in size and the text altered in later stages. The finished result can be found on my blog.

Exploring the idea of masks and how people still use them today in regards to social media and creating another identity within it. Discussing how semiotics work in order to gain further understanding.

Power of a Typeface

Exploring how typography is important in todays society and the impact within it. The word fear is meant to sent hearts into a panic and generate a certain feeling when seen. 

None of these typefaces in anyway represent that and need to be explored on how they can with this effect.
